Breitbart ^ | 3/01/2021 | HANNAH BLEAU

Posted on 03/03/2021 7:19:38 AM PST by Bon of Babble

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday criticized certain Democrats for failing to support progressive demands for a $15 minimum wage, contending they are living in a “dystopian capitalist nightmare” and adding that the minimum wage should actually be $24 an hour.

Other than steal tips from coworkers, what as this dumbass ever done?

She got a degree in economics from Boston U. Yet she still has no comprehension of the Law of Supply and Demand!

I doubt there is a better example of the [lack of] value of a college education on display anywhere else...

Actually, unions are some of the chief proponents of an increase in the minimum wage, since union contract labor rates are often indexed to a multiple of the prevailing minimum wage. I hate labor unions too, and the fact that unions will be huge beneficiaries of an increase in the minimum wage is Reason Number #63 to *not* increase the minimum wage.

Why don't you start a business and pay your employees 15 to 24 dollars an hour and let us know how that works out for you?

I wonder if she could lead by example and pay her staff $24/hr?

One of my objections to minimum wage increases (and I have a few), is that these smarmy politicians don’t have write the checks. They make OTHERS come up with the money, struggle to make payroll, shuffle their cost structures around while they, the politicians, go around patting themselves on the back.

Restaurants in small rural towns will go out of business.

High school kids won’t get jobs there.

...and if they are not farm or ranch kids, the will never learn a work ethic.

Suitable only for a lifetime of being welfare recipients, and most importantly, voters concerned only with voting for whoever promises the most, without a single thought of how much freedom and opportunity every penny will cost them.

I think we should refer to her as ‘aoc’’. After all she claims not to like capitalism.

Half of America is stupid enough to elect her, as they did with Joey Bidet&Co.

Did they now?

You're in the no vote fraud is ever possible camp?

Why not $50 a hour? Or $100?

I know Democrat voters are stupid but it's still hard to believe someone this dumb got elected to the House?

Or is hyperinflation one of the goals of the left?

This woman is an insult to bartenders, everywhere.

Hmmmm, that liquor company that's advertising to support bartenders could use her as an example of what could happen if they aren't kept bartending...

$24?

Why so greedy?

$1,000,000 / hr is appropriate.

AOC must be thinking, I was born at the wrong time. If that $24 minimum wage would have been law when I was tending bar, think of the the overflowing tip jar we could have had. Customers with that walking-around money.

I've been mulling the wisdom of no minimum wage for anyone under the age of 18.

The day you become eligible to vote, your boss can't afford your services anymore, and you have to train your replacement...
