Federal appeals court removes big hurdle to North Carolina voter ID law
The Fayetteville Observer ^ | December 2, 2020 | Brian Gordon

A federal appeals court delivered a victory for voter ID supporters in North Carolina Wednesday, reversing a lower court’s decision that blocked the state’s 2018 voter ID law because of racial bias.

The appeals court said a federal judge was wrong to block the ID requirement last year, arguing the judge improperly used past examples of discrimination by the state legislature to conclude the ID law was unfair.

“A legislature’s past acts do not condemn the acts of a later legislature, which we must presume acts in good faith,” the unanimous ruling stated.

This decision doesn’t ensure North Carolinians will have to show photographic identification when voting. The state and local NAACP chapters, plaintiffs in the case, can still appeal the latest ruling. And the ID requirement has also been temporarily blocked in state courts as it awaits a hearing by the N.C. Supreme Court.

This is several months old, but we have to take every small victory these days when it comes to elections and voting policy, and the court thing regarding this goes all the way back to Obama and his Justice Department.

A judge will block it before the next election.

They can screw with the voting machines.

They’ll let us have Voter ID.

It's a start. Now let it spread from state to state. There is no reason that minimum qualifications for voting are so lax that dead people can vote.

When I sat for a State exam, I had to submit a thumb print and a photo.

All these decisions to block voter ID wanted by the voters here in NC was just to game the system during the 2020 election! the DEMs will wait until just in time to pull the type of sh^t just before 2022 and likely again in 2024 to game it again as long as we have the criminal / dishonest elements placed there by nobama and other criminal DEMs in the meantime! ONCE EVIL and siding with the mafia you will never be converted!

The Democrats were not able to flip NC as they did in the six contested states. That may have been because NC did not have a single dominant city like Detroit or Atlanta.

Charlotte is not as dominant in NC as Phoenix, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, etc., are in their respective states. Mecklenburg County has about 10% of the state's population.

I bought a new i-phone last month and was required to show a photo ID. Checking into an image lab at the hospital, I had to show a photo ID to have an xray. How can showing a photo ID be racial. Someone please explain!!

Raleigh area is just as bad as Charlotte, though, and the two MSAs combined is about 3m people, or 30% of total NC population.

Biological ID in the form of a finger print or eye scan oir both will solve the problem and should be employed in every single political contest in the Nation and at every level.

We voted and we the people chose voter ID. There’s absolutely no racial angle to it. Anybody can get a valid ID. Any claims to the contrary are pure BS. The ridiculous district court judge’s opinion should have been overturned immediately. We passed this by referendum over 2 years ago.

When I voted for voter ID in the referendum 2 years ago I drove down the street to a nearby grocery store, bought a 6 pack with my groceries and had to show photo ID for that.

You have to have photo ID to buy booze, enter a bar, buy smokes, drive a car, board a plane, get welfare, etc. Who doesn’t have a valid photo ID? Almost nobody lacks one. That was the case in Virginia in 2005 when the Carter-Baker study was done. There simply aren’t these hidden masses of Black people who don’t have a photo ID and can’t get a photo ID like the Democrats claim.

And the fact the the DEM gov was only interested in shaving votes to save his own *ss! NC is hovering close to purple though...and with all the resent implants from NY and other FU big cities they are infecting the state! Raleigh (Universities and Research Triangle), Charlotte (Big dark cities and the nobama convention influx of ???? changed it), Greensboro (Big US Govt offices) and Asheville (hippies, elite Libs)are already socialist hot spots!

The fact that it is more difficult to coordinate fraud when there are six metro areas vs. one (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada) or two (Wisconsin, Pennsylvania) probably saved NC from fraud this time. The Democrats did not need the state.
