I also like those songs by Englebert & Tom Jones, because I think they give really good, soulful versions of some great, old, sad, bluesy, country songs. (Not because I'm just for hearing "nice old lady music". I'm not a woman, like yourself, but I think Engelbert and Tom Jones both sing great, soulful versions of some of these sad, bluesy, country songs.) :-)
(Besides, Engelbert Humperdinck has a great name, doesn't he?) :-)
Here are some older versions of those same songs, done earlier, by various country singers, who also do good, bluesy, country versions I like too. (See how you like these versions yourself.)
"Am I That Easy To Forget" - Carl Belew
"Green, Green Grass Of Home" - Johnny Darrell
"Please Release Me" - Jerry Lee Lewis
"There Goes My Everything" - Jack Greene
(They're not British like Humperdinck & Jones, but they do good versions of these country songs, don't they?)
Nice tunes....and, yes, good versions of country songs. Thanks. ((HUGS))
