An estimated 5.6 percent of Americans identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, according to a new Gallup report. That’s up from 4.5 percent in 2017, the last year polling on the issue was conducted by the organization.
Of those surveyed who identified as LGBTQ, 54.6 percent identified as bisexual, 24.5 percent as gay, 11.7 percent as lesbians, 11.3 percent as transgender and 3.3 percent said they used another term to describe their identity (i.e. queer or same-gender loving). The total exceeds 100 percent because respondents were able to choose more than one category.
The results were based on more than 15,000 interviews conducted with adults 18 and older throughout 2020.
The percent of Americans who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer increased 60 percent between 2012 and 2020, according to Gallup.
Younger Americans are increasingly likely to consider themselves part of the LGBTQ community: Nearly 16 percent of Generation Z, those 18 to 23 in 2020, consider themselves something other than heterosexual. That compares to just 2 percent of Americans 56 and older.

Interesting! I have never known of anyone who claims to be transgender and of all of my friends, none of them do either.

I am in my late 50’s. I know around 8-10 men my age-HS, college classmates, fraternity brothers business associates, friends of friends etc, town people, etc who have come out gay within the last few years.
All of these guys were married and many had hot wives.

Well, many “youngsters” are desperate for attention, just like 4-yr olds. Similary, they are desperate for sex. D’oh.
So, if they identify as some weird sub-group they get attention and can even claim victimhood.
And, if they pick some weird sub-group in the presence of the right person they will be asked: “How does that work?” To which the obvious reply (D’oh) is : “Well, let me show you.”

That’s beside the point. The same argument that is made for a practicing homosexual can be made for a practicing pedophile. Namely, this is how I feel, therefore this is WHO I AM.
Now to play Devil’s Advocate even further, there have been many historical examples of cultures allowing people to marry at early ages. Even in the US today some states allow people to marry at 15 (with parental consent). The only difference between consenting gays and consenting “old and young” is that the latter is criminalized. But if pedos “are just made that way” and a younger person (say 14 years old+) wants to have a consensual relationship with them, then on what grounds does one ban it. Within the Catholic Church, for example, the Age of Accountability is 14. I beleive in many branches of Judaism it’s 13. Heck, we even let kids make a “decision for Christ” at very young ages. But wouldn’t we like to be able to say that some forms of sexual expression are just wrong (regardless of whether you do it privately or not)?
If you can’t get lucky go LGBTQ you get a shot at everyone.

This is a purely intellectual exercise because I’m ignorant of specific scripture. As a Christian and IN GOOD FAITH I’m asking.
No question natural law would say procreation stops at a gay relationship. ...but sinful to be in love with someone. I stuggle with that.
