A new frontier in "cancel culture" is looming on the horizon: Banking and financial services firms could ban conservative customers and others from industries targeted by the left, warns North Carolina Republican Rep. Ted Budd, a member of the House Financial Services Committee.

I have mentioned to people before that there is great power in doing work pro-bono so I think it's worth reiterating that discussion again, but know that I stand virtually alone in doing work in a non-monetized fashion. By being non-monetized from the start, I can't be de-monetized.
>>By being non-monetized from the start, I can’t be de-monetized.<<
Sadly, the grocery store, mortgage company, power company, car financier, etc. are not also de-monetized.
There are only two ways that this can go. Conservatives can roll over and take it, or they can utterly abandon the pro-”free market” wing of the party. I know that sounds radical, but of the bulk of free-markets willingly choose to engage in such acts, then how can cultural, moral, relgious, and Constitutional conservatives still support such a system that is so obviously a de facto enemy?
Nothing will speed up the rise of socialism, and government power faster than if the “free marketers” make such a move for they will drive the base towards a more statist solution than can peserve the things they hold dear.
I know, that’s why I know how damaging it will be. This was a lesson that I learned(in a way) during the Tea Party era. I knew organizers personally, it’s extremely time-consuming and painstaking work. Most organizers simply couldn’t afford to be an organizer without finding a way to be an organizer and get paid for it.
The media weaponized this and used it to great effect. I was personally heartbroken when I saw so many fellow conservatives demonize conservative organizers who got paid for it, as if they were taking advantage and getting paid too much or otherwise had sinister motives. It’s all water under the bridge at this point as very very few remember anymore.
But I saw this and realized(this was one of the most important, out of many reasons) that I would never ask for a dime for any of my audiobooks. Never.
The reasons now are different because finances are an aggressive banking target, but that does give me a rare advantage that I know most simply can’t afford. It also helps that recording audiobooks is very cheap. There’s no flashy graphics and other overhead to consider.
The power of the spoken word. The power of the human voice. That’s what I am trying to expand.
This isn’t a free market right now. They’re all acting in concert where all of the CEOs have 6 year “masters degrees” and are nothing but 6 year communism degrees.
They are all indoctrinated.
The CEOs, the CFOs, the heads of human resources, the heads of transportation(for companies who have such a thing)....
They are all indoctrinated. All of them have 4 or 6 year college degrees.
keep up the great work. you are clearly doing your part!
I apologize, I think I misread your comment. Yes, I agree.
And we already see some conservatives right now moving toward pro-big government. How many respond to the actions of big tech by demanding more government in the form of the old discredited progressive/trust-buster approach? What you are talking about already exists. Statism is being met with more statism instead of being met with conservatism.
Soon conservatives will have to have a Star of David sewn into their clothing and have to wear it every day so everyone will know who they are......
Fascism has come to America, and it is empowered by Democrats
Do you know how easy it is for a large group of ordinary people to force a Financial Institution into Insolvency???, It is remarkably EASY to do.
if 10%-20% of just about ANY Financial Institution’s customers Close their Accounts and Withydraw the funds in CASH, most Financial Institutions become INSOLVENT OVERNIGHT.
See Continental Savings and Indy Mac bank
This is not new. The Obamasimo administration launched a program called “Choke Point” that essentially told banks who they could do business with.
This has been around for years and will only get worse under Biden.
I am sorry, but there is ZERO possibility that the left controls all the banks. In fact, I would say that most banks are controlled by conservatives.
Statism is being met with more statism instead of being met with conservatism.

It’s only rational to meet Left-wing statism with some form of conservatism IF that form of conservatism can win. If it cannot win (or cannot win in any reasonable time frame) then the options I mentioned are all that’s left. There is perhaps one more: one can leave the country like Europeans did in the 1600s.
Cryptocurrency may save the day. Best start mining your Bit Coins now.
I think its harder than you realize. In theory yes, it only takes that many as a percentage. But you have to remember, it’s inconvenient to go through all of that.
This is why I believe boycotts don’t work. Without rare exception, I don’t think they ever worked.
I think computers and phones represent one of the best microcosms of the failure of boycotts. In many instances, a cellphone can have a new binary file put onto it and the android OS erased.(Apple phones, forget it)
It’s even easier for operating systems. There’s nothing stopping anybody with very, very rare exceptions from switching away from a Mac or Windows where payment is required (unless someone is a dishonorable petty thief) and using some software that you don’t have to contribute to left wing causes.
But if those were the case then Free Republic and every single other conservative forum would be Linux and Pinephone and LineageOS central.
But they aren’t. And this is right in your home - right there in your living room or home office. I guarantee you that if you took a poll of users here or even better the platform polled their base-level system ID data, more than 80% are using both Android/Apple and Windows/Mac.
Boycotts don’t work.
It’s too inconvenient. No, this isn’t a commentary on laziness. It’s a commentary of above and beyond. “I already have a bank, so its easy to keep”. “I already have windows or android installed and it works fine, so its easy to keep. I have other priorities in my life”.
It’s the other priorities that kill boycotts.
We all know how the religious types are the scary ones. That they are the radicalized gun toting crazies who create a dangerous environment for the rest of us to live in. What better way to make a safer world than by shutting the religious crazies out of society. Start by making everyone swear that they are not Jesus loving freaks before getting the required mark on their bodies in order to buy food and other goods.
Just for the heck of it, let the mark be the dreaded “666”. That would ensure no Jesus freak would ever lie in order to obtain the mark they (hilariously) refer to as the “mark of the beast”.
What could go wrong? This would ensure only correct thinking people are able to purchase stuff. What could possibly go wrong?
Is this where “progressives” want to go? I actually believe it is.
Thank you. I generally don’t make too much of it because I don’t want it to be seen as self promotion, however, here are other audiobooks (not produced by or connected to me in any way) that are really important and should be considered more often.

Again, these are not my work.
The larger corporatist (i.e., fascist) wing of the party has nothing to do with the much smaller, libertarian-minded free market wing. It's important to use the right labels. Calling corporatism a "free market" movement is straight from the Marxist dictionary.
When a multi-national comes to either political party demanding favors in return for contributions, they do not want free markets - they want a market position guaranteed for them by government guns.
Both parties have been more than willing to make these deals - but Trump with his trade policies was messing up the scam, so corporatists on both sides jointly worked out a plan to get rid of him.
Continental Savings was Declared Insolvent and CLOSED by Morning after Multiple Large Electronic Transfers overnight by a whole lot of people, Indy Mac was Liquidated within a Week thanks to a Statement made by Chuck Schumer, by people standing in line, my Dad was one of them.
Look at what they did with Gamestop, that could easily be reproduced to attack one Financial Institution at a time.
It’s the other priorities that kill boycotts.

I think you are right. That’s why it’s easier to seek a statist solution. Instead of making me and other users change. Make the buisiness change....or else. The Left knows this even better than the Right. The many (but not all) on the Right live under the delusion that they can still get a reasonably conservative, law-and-order society with market forces being a BIG contributer to that. Now it’s becoming clear that “the market” could give a flip about nationhood, culture, citizenship, soveriegnty, etc. ,etc. It’s first order of business is wealth accumulation uber alles. Now that has been known since forever, but it’s only recently that conservatives have had all the howitzers pointed at them instead of acting in defense of thier cause.
I agree. The progressives want to re-create the Great Depression, where they had unlimited power to use government to remake society any way they wanted.
