A lot of politicians and businessmen don’t understand that the press only has so much power as we give them. If people don’t trust corporate media — if people don’t respect them — then they don’t have much power at all.
Reporters in particular don’t seem to understand this give and take. By and large, reporters think of themselves as very important, very noble people putting their lives at risk to save American democracy in between brunch dates. Close your eyes and you can almost see chubby little Washington Post journos dramatically whipping their bangs out of their eyes as they whisper: “Democrathy dythe in darkneth.”
Elon Musk gets it, though. When a Washington Post reporter emailed him for comment on a story on how investors are worried he is stretched too thin — a story the reporter almost certainly finished writing before bothering to reach out — Musk replied, “Give my regards to your puppet master.”
“Puppet master” refers to Jeff Bezos, the book-burning, dissent-crushing, Main St.-wasting, China-loving left-wing billionaire who owns The Washington Post. And “alpha” refers to Elon Musk, who just perfectly demonstrated how to respond to a hostile and dishonest corporate media no matter the story.

It’s a profession where it’s noble to print private neighborhood texts and take photographs of children to get just one more scoop on the already known story of Sen. Ted Cruz going Mexico, yet a story about Gov. Andrew Cuomo killing thousands of your parents in your own state is ignored until President Joe Biden can be safely elected.
When did all this “Alpha” and “beta” crap start infesting popular culture. And when will the Virgin shoot and kill Chad?
Beta became a catchall for nerds, geeks, dweebs, spazes, brainiacs, four-eyes and other names I can’t recall at the moment.
Because alpha males build billion dollar factories in China.
Bwahaaa!!! Rooney was definitely a beta.
First I remember it outside of “Brave New World” and the animal kingdom was Al Gore; him needing to be more aggressive (which, I guess, lefties think “Alpha” means) as VP in order to later be president. Around that same time, as I recall, came all the books on how to be Alpha, pick up chicks, boss your employer around, etc. Guess that’s ‘99 or ‘00?
The left is now senile and geriatric, on the way to be institutionalized. They scream at us, "Get off my internet!"
The cool kid counter culture is now on the right.
Democrap liberal dogma raises its ugly head.
Embedded in schools, and on university campuses for more than a generation, the putrid lib ideology surges through the media, commerce, on/profits, and Democrat-controlled government.
U.S. society as a whole is characterized as a “system of oppression”.....
It is now routinely claimed that “the US government was founded on racist intellectual premises and economic practices
that institutionalized oppression of people of color that continues to the present day” (Seattle Public Schools teaching).
Alpha Males got where they are because they only agreed to being f’d in the ass WITH a reach-around.
The groundwork was laid in the 60s with feminism and free love. It has recently peaked with Instagram, Tinder, OnlyFans.
In current western culture, 20% of the men get 80% of the women. The 80% normal category of men end up fighting over a turn with the rejects. It used to be 20% of the men got first pick then went off market, leaving normal men the second and third rounds.
Some western men in the normal beta 80% category are finding out they are in the alpha 20% category in eastern countries. The western women that think they are in the alpha category for life for the easy task of bedding alpha-men when in their 20s are in for a world of hurt.
I can truthfully say that I’ve never built a billion-dollar factory in China. Does that make me better than Musk?
Charles Darwin had the ‘60s feminists beat when he wrote about alpha males in animal groups in the ‘50s. The 1850s. 1859 to be precise.
Musk gets a bunch of his money from the government. Electric car and solar tax credits. SpaceX.
Not sure anyone is rich or powerful enough to mess with the deep state and come out whole.
Anyone can be indicted for almost anything. And if there is no cause to indict, they just make the evidence up. If that doesn’t work, they just withdraw your tax credits.
He’s playing with fire.
“newspuppets”
Its use in non-science circles became much more of a thing around the same time that the whole Men’s Rights/empowerment nonsense started becoming popular on the Internet. So, I don’t know, maybe ten years ago? Perhaps a bit more.
Anyway, I used to always cringe whenever some geek would use it to talk about human relationships. Made you wonder if the person using it might be on the spectrum. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.) It’s used so much now that it doesn’t bother me as much, but personally I will never talk like that. Ugh.
I bet he’s glad they didn’t ask him anything about his tesla truck windows.
When did all this “Alpha” and “beta” crap start infesting popular cultureNo one refers to themselves as Alpha or Beta.
Only other people do that to others or each other.
BTW AlGore, a gravely voice, pretend or otherwise, only makes you alpha in someone else's fantasy.
I think it's worse than that. Maybe 5% of the available men get 80% of the available women. So that leaves 95% fighting over for the remaining 20%.
In what beer-and-jalapeño-popper haze did you vomit that theory up?
