Multiple attempts by Chinese coastguard vessels to approach Japanese vessels in the East China Sea represent Beijing’s intensifying efforts to assert its sovereignty over the disputed Diaoyu Islands, known as the Senkakus in Japan, analysts said on Monday. The latest incidents happened on Saturday and Sunday, when Japan’s coastguard said two Chinese coastguard vessels had repeatedly entered Japan’s territorial waters and had made moves to approach a Japanese fishing boat carrying three passengers near the islands, which are under the administrative control of Japan. A Japanese patrol vessel deployed around the fishing boat to ensure its safety warned the Chinese ships to leave Japanese territory, Japan’s coastguard said. Two other Chinese vessels were also spotted cruising in the so-called contiguous zone just outside Japan’s territorial waters. One of them appeared to be armed with an autocannon, the coastguard said.

Just a small correction: The 'big dam' is on the Yangtze River. Not the Ganges. The Ganges River is in India.
And yes, if worse comes to worse, the 'big dam' (Three Gorges) would make a fine target by a nation that wanted serious retaliation.
ADDENDUM: Provided, of course that the attacking nation should be considering the human cost of breaching Three Gorges, and would be willing to accept the retaliation to THEIR country (likely in the form of nuclear bombs).
The Japanese fought their supply lines in China more than they fought the Chinese. We had a devil of time convincing the Chinese to fight. We’d pay them and they would still figure a way to forestall combat.
Every one of those casualties would be a family’s only child. They can’t keep that up for long.
> We had a devil of time convincing the Chinese to fight. We’d pay them and they would still figure a way to forestall combat. <
Some military historians take this position: The Japanese were better trained, were better lead, and had better weapons. So the Chinese chose not to roll the dice, and instead decided to trade land for time. After all, that strategy worked for the Russians when Napoleon invaded.
I’m just throwing this out there. I am certainly no expert on the subject.
In WW2, Supply depended on rail. If you can cut the lines, the advancing army sputters. By the time the Germans reached Moscow, they are out of gas. By the time the gas got there, winter was on them.
The PLAN could build 500 ships in 2 years and overwhelm the near Pacific and those islands. The Japs would lose a war of attrition.
That all sounds very noble from you, even your hyperbole about me personally being a megamurderer.
Fact is, we’re in a war with China, right now.
A war that we very well have probably lost as of January 20th with the installation of their Vichy puppet regime in Washington D.C.
Between the corruption of state authorities, the feckless court systems at the state and federal levels, and the absolute complicity of our mainstream media - not to mention the collaboration of many Republican “leaders”, we have lost our country. Past tense, it’s already done.
Donald Trump now is nothing more than a very wealthy private citizen. You haven’t noticed that they, the puppet state, are now setting out to destroy him on criminal charges.
Frankly, my personal belief is that only divine intervention can save us - intervention that we as a society do not deserve.
That notwithstanding, one would settle for victory in a conventional shooting war rather than losing the war on their terms that we have already lost in the status quo.
If we don’t have the leadership or the will to do it ourselves, the next best thing would be an alliance of friendly nations who might actually have some strength of their own to assert.
War is indeed hell, so one has heard.
They started it, against not only us but the entire ****** planet.
Dresden, Tokyo, Berlin...
Yes, let them learn, if they live.

Stalin famously said that quantity has a quality all its own. That’s something first-world countries seem to have forgotten.
As an example, during WW II the Germans produced around 6,000 excellent Panther tanks. The Soviets produced around 65,000 very good T-34 tanks.
The problem with naval warfare is time it takes to train sailors. It takes a long time. Each sailor has about 5 different jobs. Especially on the small destroyer type ships.
Its your wish to make millions dead a reality, so that makes you a mass murder in waiting. Too horrible to imagine.
The rest of your thesis is armchair hyperbola.
May your chains rest lightly upon you, in due time.
Should the Chicoms invade Taiwan, what will Biden do?
China would still lose. Attacks from China/Mongolia ended up badly in the past,
Example from a national geographic article: "In the 13th century, Genghis Khan's grandson Kublai Khan had already conquered much of China and hoped to expand his Mongolian empire. To attack Kyushu, the southernmost of the four main Japanese islands, he amassed an enormous fleet of Chinese and Korean ships. It was one of the largest armadas the world has ever seen, with more than 140,000 sailors.
Yet twice, in 1274 and 1281, Kublai sent his overwhelming forces across the Korea Strait, and twice his fleet was destroyed."
Japan and China have been feuding for millennia, and China has failed to successfully invade Japan. In this modern era, Japan is more than capable of repelling China.
