Biden's first month was a 'honeymoon,' but bigger challenges loom ahead

WASHINGTON - One month into the job, President Joe Biden is on the cusp of securing a bigger economic rescue package than during the 2009 financial crisis. He has wiped out his predecessor Donald Trump’s policies from climate change to travel bans, while the U.S. daily COVID-19 vaccine distribution rate grew 55%.

That may have been the easy part.

The White House’s broad strategy - avoid unwinnable political fights, focus on policies with mass voter appeal, and mostly ignore Republican attacks - will be increasingly difficult in the months ahead, Democrats and Republicans say, even as millions more are vaccinated and the economy rebounds.

Biden has made many of the changes he has clear authority to do by executive action. Landmines going forward include pushing laws on which the Democratic Party is divided, such as college debt relief, tax hikes and curbs on the energy industry.

Then there are the intractable policy fights that have defined American politics for a generation, including who can become a citizen, how easy it should be to vote, whether the government should pay for healthcare, and who should carry a gun.

Meanwhile, many tricky issues, from trade tariffs to China policy to tech oversight, are still under review at the White House.

Nonetheless, the Left’s expectations for Biden remain high.

“The administration came out bold and strong,” said Luis Hernandez, a youth gun violence prevention activist who met with senior administration officials last week. “There’s much more to be done.”

Some honeymoon, when you’ve already got AOC and Bernie mighty disappointed over failure to enact their pie in the sky minimum wage hike and also college debt forgiveness. At least the National Enquirer and other supermarket tabloids from time to time admit that they make up their stories.

Because it was a honeymoon for the press; they are in love with this decrepit, failing old man bc his string pullers further their agenda. You won’t hear a critical word from Reuters.

What a honeymoon! Over 70¢/gallon jump, tens of thousands put deliberately out of work, worthless Heels-Up dealing with foreign leaders, sure of illegals at the border, ______ (fill in the blank)

Right now the corrupt MSM is just laboring to prop up this guy who brain dead. The guy can’t work outside of a few select events that are none too taxing and only after he’s been pumped up with juice. And then they put a lid on him for the next three days to recover.

How long can they keep the charade up? Absolutely everyone knows it, it’s just stunning to see how far the corrupt MSM will go to continue to work with Democrats to hide this.

Right? Wait till the poorest of Americans begin squealing when gasoline prices go up another $1.50 a gallon and they receive their electricity/heating fuel bills in the mail.

Surprise!

Yeah. Trump definitely didn’t get a honeymoon. Biden will have it easy. The Economy will grow big time this year with vaccine and opening up everything. Timing for Biden is on his side. Not to mention having a friendly media. The left will be a nuisance but the media will swat them away from Biden.

The Economy will grow big time this year with vaccine and opening up everything.

I wouldn’t bet on that. Having destroyed thousands of small businesses thru forced closures to hurt the economy and get rid of Trump, the Dem governors can’t now just flip a switch and have those same businesses reopen. They’re now bankrupt. Closed. Destroyed. They’ve killed the golden goose.

They’ll be able to put that stuff on their “SNAP” card, or whatever we pay for.

And, if the middle class starts to complain, well... eff ‘em.
