Here’s what Ted Cruz is missing out on in Cancun.
The Texas senator’s family was happily soaking up the Mexican sun Friday — without him — after leaving the Lone Star State, where millions experienced power outages and record freezing temperatures during a deadly winter storm, exclusive photos show.
Cruz’s wife, Heidi, was seen on the sand wearing a red bikini under blue beach umbrellas, video and photos obtained by The Post show.

A classic Rush response to a story like this would be Rush going back to the archives to dig up instances where Democrat politicians did the exact same thing and the media didn’t care.
What are you talking about? He is a United States Senator, not a coal fired baseload power plant or a turbine powered peaking unit. There is nothing any US Senator, from either party, from any location on the political spectrum, could have done to change this situation in the immediate term. His kids and wife were cold, he accompanied them to a warmer place. Which about 99.9% of Texans would have done if they could. His being in Cancun made no difference to the way this played out. The blame will probably get spread around regardless of where the responsibility is, but Ted Cruz is not making the decisions that led to this.
All this little kerfuffle tells me is how hard the Democrats are going to be on various Republicans of prominence. Cruz, DeSantis, others. The GOP needs to up its communication game and do some pre-emptive damage to Democratic candidates up in 2022, and they better start soon.
His voting record says otherwise. He and Trump have had conflicts, but Cruz supported Trump’s agenda. Have they both said stupid things about each other? Have they ever!

What does the silly writer expect? Does she believe that Ted is the Governor? Ted is a member of Congress. It’s not his job to keep Texans warm or to freeze along with them.

- fix chili or fajitas for the city and State employees performing winter weather operations.
As it is, NEITHER DEMOCRATS NOR REPUBLICANS did any of this for us.

And it took Biden 9 days to even respond to Abbott’s plea for help from FEMA. What is Cruz supposed to do? Serve soup?!
Cruz did come back.
His family stayed.
So what?
It’s certainly not the worst thing a politician has ever done. It’s not morally wrong. It may look bad but it wasn’t illegal.
If a dem had done it it never would have made the news, and they have done far worse than this.
Ted Cruz is a U.S. senator - not the governor of Texas. He has no authority to, e.g., declare an emergency, send in the Nat'l Guard, order the distribution of blankets, etc.

Shame on the NY Post for stalking Ted Cruz’s family. So utterly ridiculous. Heidi Cruz and her kids have no ability to save Texas from bad weather.
I think she looks perfectly fine in her red bikini. I do think that the media posting that video of her and the children was more egregious than anything Senator Cruz did.

Any optic is made bad for a conservative and good for a liberal. If Beto O’Rourke and his family were in the exact same circumstance the media would have praised him for leaving the state so his family would not be using any precious energy there and leaving more for those who could not leave.
This is what I call making lemonade out of lemons. There are countless “snow birds” drinking the lemonade right now on warm beaches in southern countries. My parents did it by hauling a large trailer down to Mazatlan after Thanksgiving. In their trailer park, Mexicans would come in, pick up their laundry and have it back, clean and neatly folded later that night. Grocery carts would come in with everything fresh and everything you would want to eat. Booze, beer, wine—it was all there—cheap!
