TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says flags will fly at half-staff in honor of conservative talk radio pioneer Rush Limbaugh, who died Wednesday from terminal lung cancer.
DeSantis made the announcement during a press conference in West Palm Beach Friday morning. The governor says once funeral arrangements are made for Limbaugh, the state will lower the flags.
“I know they’re still figuring out the arrangements, but what we do when there’s things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we’re gonna be lowering the flags to half-staff,” the governor says.

It is not the first time I have guessed erroneously.
Trump/Densantis is problematic unless DJT changes his residence back to New York. Article II: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.” Florida’s elector couldn’t vote for both, so you could end up with the VP candidate not getting FL’s electoral votes. In most cases, it wouldn’t matter. In 2000, if Cheney hadn’t changed back to Wyoming, he could have been disqualified from TX’s electoral votes, and we could have ended up with Bush-Lieberman (which actually might have an improvement, but that’s for another discussion).

Actually IMHO, Rush should be allowed the privilege to be placed in the Capitol Rotunda for Americans to pay their repects.
He did recieve the highest award a civilian can get...
But the politics of the day detract from that....
Flag should be lowered for MILITARY and heads of State, ONLY.
Lowering the flag for civilians including radio personalities and celebrities or school children is flat out WRONG because it CHEAPENS the meaning of the gesture itself and is demeaning to the SIGNIFICANCE of the death of our great military heroes.

Conversely, that would imply all citizens are below heads of state or the military.
Whitney Houston got it from Christie. DeSantis had to give it to Rush. And it was the right thing to do!

Good for the governor. It will honor a person of wide accomplishment and generosity, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient . It will also make Liberal heads explode at the mention of the Rush-Trump-DeSantis triumvirate. ItzA2Fur!
Well, Rush was a Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient, so, there is that.
