I cancelled my subscriptions to Popular Science and Popular Mechanics many many years ago when they found religion, Bye Bye NASCAR
Instead of burning carbon fuels to melt steel for the drivetrain, chassis, and suspension, they're going to burn dung on a flat stone to heat water in a clay urn to make their bamboo cars go...because they're full of NASCRAP about being "carbon neutral".
They lost me way back. First with no Stock cars. Then no Winston. Then pandering to BLM etc
No the car would have to just sit there and no crew allowed since they all spew CO2 into the air.
I read a story about a guy in South Africa who went into the carbon offset business. He would plant trees, get them certified as a carbon offset by some organization, and then “sell” an offset to someone. The guy said that when the trees were big enough the locals would cut them down for firewood.
Blah blah, BS, blah blah blah...
Nastycar. the WWF with wheels.
AND...arugula sandwiches with a side of kale slaw will replace hotdogs/fries at the concession stands.
So what does that mean?
Roush sends a Carbon Credit check to Al Gore for the privilege of racing?
Why not Team Tesla with a ‘time out’ for recharging half way through the 500 mile race?

I am so old I can remember when Roush won championships. Now they are lucky to finish in the top 20. This news is pathetic.
24 Hours of Daytona already exists. It was 3-4 weekends ago.
In the Prototype class, 1st & 2nd were 4.704 SECONDS apart...
After 24 hours—
over 2800 miles—
tire changes-—
driver changes-—
fuel additions,etc.

Yes, but THIS 24 hours will be a 500 MILE RACE!...........................LOL!....................
A absolute lie. There is no way you can be carbon neutral
We are made of carbon as is everything else let alone a race car!
