He’s gotten a lot of the dirty work done already. It was
my take that he would step down after doing all the dirty
work, so she could come in and look reasoned. (to a lot of

I think he wants to go after guns. After that, he’s gone.

A lot of Democrats own guns. If they aren’t certain that they’ve got the elections rigged in perpetuity, some of the crazy gun stuff being floated won’t fly in Congress.
