Ted Cruz has been pictured jetting off to Cancun while millions in Texas remain without power, heat or water amid a devastating winter storm.

I see nothing wrong with what he did.
And allows them to avoid the actual question which is where is their POTUS on all of this.
I don’t see Biden or his administration down there doing a thing.
The MSM double standard continues because our side grouses about how bad it looks.
The left doesn’t give a sh!t and neither should we. Alinsky is laughing in hell that we continue to abide by old rules.
Family vacations are awesome.
I hope he comes back with a fantastic tan.
The left around the country can go $@U)(@$ themselves.
I didn’t know Cruz lived in Texas for the most part while serving in the Senate.
Shhhhh, this is another piss on Ted thread dontchaknow?
If only he had driven around Texas in the back of a pickup truck in sackcloth and ashes, all of this concern troll hysteria over him not doing PHONY, LEFTIST VIRTUE SIGNALING would have been avoided.
I bet his cell phone still works.
There’s plenty of things to find fault with Cruz, but this seems overblown.
I can only imagine what Rush would say about this tempest in a teacup. He would probably not advocate for conservatives to sit and suffer if they had the means to be more comfortable.
It was probably a planned trip anyway. I am not crazy about Cruz but it’s slim pickings out here for perfect conservatives. We are letting the lefties shape our thoughts about this.
I guess Rudy could have gone off to Florida right after 9/11, but he didn’t.
This isn’t hard, Ted, your wife is rich, you can afford to cancel a vacation and take the financial hit. As another said here, send the wife and kids there, but if you want to be a PUBLIC PERSON than grow up a bit and be one, even if that means Cancun has to wait an extra week or so. Otherwise, just be another lobbyist, just like the ones who created this power mess in Texas.
Or...get a generator for his house.
Please don’t speak for Rush.
Hey hey hey, you are not playing by the rules, if you can’t complain about Ted, then you are breaking the piss on Ted thread rules
Send the family to safety. Can’t argue that. But be a man and stay and deal with the problem.
I hope he stays in Mexico
I’m in CA and there are two things even leftists are furious with Newsom about: the lack of high school sports (they care more about that than in-person school), and the fact that he ate at the French Laundry.
I’m conservative and even I don’t care at all that Newsom ate at the French Laundry. It was hypocrisy but wasn’t “illegal” (the restaurant was allowed to be open).
But I’m amazed at how angry Californians are about the French Laundry. Cruz is tone deaf for sure, even though he’s not a governor.
“I admit honestly I don’t like beards on men.”
Are you implying that you prefer beards on women?
So here’s an easy question: If one of us were advising Ted, would we tell him that leaving the state for a warm vacation while people are literally freezing to death is a “Good Idea” or a “Bad Idea, full of political risk”. 99% of us would have said “bad idea”.
That’s his problem - he thinks he’s convinced that God gave him infinite knowledge, while we know that only one human ever had that (Rush). Eventually people around him will get the courage to tell him the truth, that he’s finished politically.
Funny you should mention that. This picture is all over twitter.

Just another proof that those from the Swamp inside the beltway have abandoned the the citizens of this once great Country.
This is absurd. He has a family and vacations are a big deal to family. What is he going to do to fix this? Good for him! It’s not like his office is closed or is not helping constituents and now seems like a good time to vacation in Texas vs sitting around in the cold dark.
This whole debacle seems to be the inevitable result of a lack of preparation by utilities that have invested most of their money in “green energy” and did not anticipate a rare weather event and its impact on their infrastructure.
If I can keep my gutters free of ice with electrons in the north, it boggles my mind that a natural gas power plant cannot do the same. I know its more complex than that, but not having power (i.e. heat) at the plant seems goofy to me.
