President Donald Trump denounced Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Tuesday as an 'unsmiling political hack' – days after the Republican party's most senior elected official voted to acquit Trump of inciting the Capitol riot but then blasted his conduct in an excoriating speech.
Trump blamed McConnell, whose office sits steps from where a large group of rioters were arrested on January 6, for causing the loss of two GOP Senate seats. Many GOP consultants and some elected officials have blamed Trump's own election overturn effort for costing the party control of the Senate.
'The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political 'leaders' like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm,' Trump began in a letter with his new stationary as the '45th President of the United States.
'McConnell's dedication to business as usual, status quo policies, together with his lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality, has rapidly driven him from Majority Leader to Minority Leader, and it will only get worse,' he wrote.
'The Democrats and Chuck Schumer play McConnell like a fiddle—they've never had it so good—and they want to keep it that way! We know our America First agenda is a winner, not McConnell's Beltway First agenda or Biden's America Last.
McConnell is the most powerful member of the Senate, although his effort to navigate impeachment suggested he may have lacked the ability to cross the majority of his conference who was inclined to stick with Trump.
One fellow Republican, Sen. Ron Johnson, even denied this week that there was an armed insurrection in the Capitol.

Is Trump the overturnor or the overturnee?
That is the question they have wrong here and they think we are stupid and not to be able to see the truth.
Stop the stolen elections both done did and future period. Enforce the law.
Do y’all’s jobs!!!!!
“””because he facilitated
judges being seated.
Wonder how many of them he knew were bad ones?
Over the next few decades, we’ll find out.”””
I agree. As far as I am concerned the jury is still out as to whether of the hundreds of federal judges turn out to be MAGA conservatives or will these judges be McConnell pre-approved lightweights.
We need change! I am sick and tired of the old guard pubs. They come to us before elections begging for $$, making all sorts of promises to then stick an ice pick in our backs once elected.
I mean it wasn’t but days after senators secured their seats, they voted for a huge spending package with $4!7 loads of give aways.
Wasn’t but days after riding President Trump’s coat tails to victory, they began turning in him.
I am fed up.

Of all people, it was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) who explained on the Senate floor Saturday what needs to happen now with Donald Trump: an investigation into whether he committed crimes and — if the evidence warrants — prosecution for any offenses.

T. S. Eliot said it best, with respect to McConnell's speech...
"The last temptation is the greatest treason: to do the right deed for the wrong reason."
Yeah, well, so is Ric Grenell, whom many on this forum think of as a great future candidate for California governor. He is certainly a great MAGA. Republican.
Thanks. Yes I agree with you.
McConnell was out of line.
“As far as I am concerned the jury is still out as to whether of the hundreds of federal judges turn out to be MAGA conservatives or will these judges be McConnell pre-approved lightweights.”
Several of them outed themselves during the last election. They cared more about process than they did about the constitution or the country.
Mumbles Marble Mouth Mitch McConnell
Wouldn’t actually mind that. That would mean the Repukes have to have a new leader. The problem with the Repukes however isn’t just the leadership
Right now you have four Republicans retiring, three of which are in states where the Democrats have a chance to pick the seat up. How the Republicans do in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina will depend on who they run. And that may well depend on whether the Trump-backed candidate or the McConnell-backed candidate takes the primary.
I’m thinking about getting a personalized tag PEACH47.
Much like many have complained about Trump’s many communications, Ditch is giving us WAY too many pieces of his fevered mind.
Hey, talk about damning the man with faint praise. When I say man, I mean turtle.
Completely, 100% agree, President Trump. I wouldn’t change a single word.
I’ve been waiting to hear from him, and it was worth waiting for. God continue to Bless President DJT
