Oregon’s Education Department is promoting a training program that will offer a toolkit to help teachers “develop an anti-racist math practice.”
As noted in a newsletter sent by the department, middle school teachers are encouraged to register for a Feb. 21 course titled “A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction,” which they say is designed to help them make use of “key tools for engagement [and] strategies to improve equitable outcomes for Black, Latinx, and multilingual students.”
According to the toolkit, one of the ways to achieve this goal is by “visibilizing the toxic characteristics of white supremacy culture with respect to math.” The alleged “toxic characteristics” include, among many others, focusing on getting the right answer, students being required to show their work, and teachers “treating mistakes as problems by equating them with wrongness.”
“Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuate objectivity as well as fear of open conflict,” the toolkit states in reference to setting the focus on getting the right answer. Instead, teachers are recommended to have students “come up with at least two answers” that might solve the problem, and challenge standardized test questions by justifying other answers other than the right one by “unpacking the assumptions that are made in the problem.”
Teachers are also expected to learn to “distinguish between a mistake and a misunderstanding” because “white supremacy culture shows up in math classrooms when addressing mistakes,” according to the toolkit.
The toolkit links to a workbook titled “Dismantling Racism” for reference. The workbook similarly identifies the belief in objectivity as a characteristic of white supremacy, claiming that it is racist to believe there is such a thing as being objective or neutral, and that one should “assume that everybody has a valid point.”

I watched a documentary today that confirms how much we have seen, and will now see how much of Western civilization has been and will be taken over by the Left. This stupidity angers me to no end. We will never lead in scientific and technology fields, engineers, accounting, builders, even plumbers and chefs need to know some math.
I used to get my granddaughter after school and help her with her homework. She was in kindergarten, and was off on a addition ptoblem. She said it was ok because she was close. I told her that in math you’re right or wrong, and close doesn’t cut it. I drilled that in to her, and math is her best subject now. Who knew I was developing a racist?
Their solution is to force employers to hire them. If their lack of skills causes blunders or even death, put the employer out of business.
You would think so...I’ve been hearing this nonsense for a while now. Apparently it isn’t just math - it’s science in general that is racist. There’s a belief, by those that don’t understand science, that as most scientists are not black that it must be racist. There must be ‘alternate science’ that would emerge if done by blacks. Current science only reflects non-black thinking.
This is where ‘equality of outcome’ is going. You can’t fake it with science, so it must be attacked. One day our computers won’t work, space programs will fail, etc. because they’re supposed to work with ‘alternate math’. So now 2+2 may equal 5.
It’s madness, brought to you by black people whom are becoming more and more racist themselves. They also teach children.
