Mitch McConnell deepens GOP civil war by warning he could OPPOSE Trump-backed candidates such as daughter-in-law Lara and Marjorie Taylor Green in favor of 'electable' Republicans

Mitch McConnell has said he is open to opposing any 'unelectable' candidates in 2022, even if they are strongly backed by Donald Trump, as he wrestles with how to handle a deeply-divided party following Trump's impeachment hearing.

McConnell voted on Saturday to acquit the former president, but then publicly attacked him, accusing him of a 'disgraceful dereliction of duty' in his most critical remarks ever uttered.

His tightrope walk between defending and demonizing the former president impressed few.

“And Trump gave your wife that job on his cabinet”

I’d say there’s a 90% chance Turtle ordered Trump to give Chao a cabinet position or he’d never push through a SCOTUS appointment.

For better or worse Greene proved she was electable. So it’ll all come down to the primary.

McConnell knows the party isn't his anymore. I doubt he'll run next time around, and he's decided to torch everything behind him as he walks out the door...

The Turtle needs a YUGE Trumpian suppository and enema. Then you could bury him in a match box. Mitch is cornered now and is essentially going nuts after he lost the Georgia Senate race due to his machinations. All he had to do is up the Covid payment to $1400 as an amendment recommended by the President, and he would still control the Senate.

Instead he said, "let them eat cake in Georgia," and just enough GOP voters stayed home, deciding that Mitch has to go.

And they are right. He has to go.

The idiot is so out of touch with conservatives that he doesn’t realize that any candidate he backs is dead on arrival.

Would a candidate want the support of Trump or McConnell? I wonder how many voters would be swayed by McConnell?

Someone posted a full-length picture of McConnell yesterday here on FR.

McConnell’s hands looked very dark, and it appeared he had a partial IV stuck into the top of one hand.

He doesn’t look well at all, and should be praying instead of bashing one of the best presidents in American history.

I’m sure I’m not alone. I am very GLAD that this is happening. It’s going to make the future Trump Victories all the sweeter.

I’m still 100% CONVINCED that the GOPe/RINO/Globalist/Never-Trumpers are CLUELESS as to what is in store for them in the future...as in their extinction. :)

Thank you, once again, President Trump for pulling back the curtain and exposing our Government for the fraud-filled, self-serving, Constitution-ripping JERKS that they are!

PLEASE! Work within your own STATE to Primary every RINO that you can!

“He’s not tone deaf.”

I meant he’s tone deaf in the sense that he truly thinks that 80 million voters gives a crap who he backs and what he thinks. It’s over for him and he believes he’s relevant, and he’s not.

Unfortunately money does lead to winning elections when it comes to chunks like $300 million donated (to a PAC or a “non-profit”) by just one of the tech oligarchs. There is no one donating that kind of money on behalf of Republicans.

Working off his instructions of his owners and their appointed colonial executive JoeBama...from the chi-com Politburo and Xi Ping.

The best way to view the current US government at these levels is that we are being run by Communist China, and it is continuing the insurgency through their proxys— who pretend to be citizens of the USA. It makes the task ahead quite focused, and divides all the interests into an internal enemy of Collaborators, and Patriot Constitutionalists.

The collaborators think they are empowered, as mitch does— and they can “weed” out the “extremists” (Trump supporters and real Republicans) from the “mainstream” (Leftist Fascists of Deep Government and their paymasters in Beijing).

Sounds like a man who knows his influence is almost gone. Whether the GOPers take back the senate in 2022 or not, they should elect a new leader.

OR, Trump hired her to keep McConnell tamped down. Remember that Trump is not "forcible."

Trump was warned ahead of time that his biggest problem in the Senate would be McConnell and I am sure he took the necessary steps to keep him on a leash, without him knowing it.
