The Oregon Department of Education is promoting a program for teachers that seeks to “disman[tle] racism in mathematics,” alleging that focusing on finding the right answer is a symbol of white supremacy.
Fox News reported that the ODE sent out a newsletter last week that mentions a “Pathway to Math Equity Micro-Course” that will occur on February 21. The course, according to Fox, is designed for middle school teachers to make use of a toolkit for ‘dismantling racism in mathematics.’”
The newsletter encourages teachers to sign up for the training, which the New York Post previously reported includes a section with 14 things associated with “White Supremacy Culture,” including perfectionism, objectivity, and individualism.
Objectivity is described the workbook accompanying the training as “the belief that there is such a thing as being objective or ‘neutral.'” The program’s toolkit also encourages teachers not to focus on a single correct answer, but to “come up with at least two answers that might solve this problem” and to “Challenge standardized test questions by getting the ‘right’ answer, but justify other answers by unpacking the assumptions that are made in the problem.”
The toolkit also asks instructors to “center ethnomathematics” in multiple ways, one of which is to “identify and challenge the ways that math is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views.”
Someone please make the insanity stop.

A year later, Hilbert, who was not Jewish, attended a banquet and was seated next to the Nazi Minister of Education, Bernhard Rust. Rust asked whether “the Mathematical Institute really suffered so much because of the departure of the Jews”. Hilbert replied, “Suffered? It doesn’t exist any longer, does it!”
We can count on Oregon to make mathematics Judenrein as well.

Why not hire more “Jaime Escalantes” in the school system to encourage the students to make math FUN again? There are ways to make math fun and competitive without dumbing it down.
Hire some people of color who are damned good at math to teach these kids!
Try to build a bridge or an airplane using pc math. This Marxist politicization is incredibly destructive and evil. You have to conclude it is intended to be.
When my daughter was young one of the better math teachers she had was a black lady. This teacher lady was very smart, and her children (she had a lot of children) went on to become get good educations and become employed as professional people.
I worked with a black guy who was very good in math and was good at visualizing abstractly. He got his masters in engineering degree while he was working. He did not have good English skills and struggled with writing, however.
It is just not true that black people cannot be really good in math. It is the culture and family structure that is holding them back.

Oh man...preaching to the choir. I retired from teaching shortly after being told I could not correct/help a child fix their incorrect math problem. I was told it might make them feel bad to know they’d done it incorrectly.
In the intervening years, our once top of the country educational system (Fairfax County, VA) has fallen and now will crash and burn. Our magnet school (tops in the country) TJ (Thomas Jefferson HS) has been rendered stupid. It wasn’t deemed diverse enough. So, the standards have been wiped out so they can bring in enough diversity so they can feel good about themselves. There goes the top gifted school in the country. No more exams. Low GPA (Oh, they won’t take the highest ones, They will take the most diverse ones so that a 3.5 “diversity” choice will enter while a 4.0 “non diversity” is disallowed). Yeah, that will FIX the school.
Glad my kids are out of college and employed.
Some non-Whites refuse to learn math, blaming their failure on Whitey. Insane liberals then declare that math is racist, and that it’s OK for non-Whites to do math wrong because Whitey is evil and racist.
OK, well then don’t let non-Whites become engineers and design bridges, and keep them out of NASA and accounting and banking.

The Oregon Department of Education uses computers that was designed by a guy using mathematics, therefore, a supremacist. Their cell phones that they talk about white supremacy had been designed using a guy using mathematics, therefore, a white supremacist. Don’t they see this? They are indulging in the fruits of white supremacy.
These are stupid people and in their stupidity they are promoting a mentality that tries keeps blacks stupid. By keeping blacks stupid they are supremacists.
