“McCarthy called Trump and asked him to “call off” his supporters...”
If that had happened, Trump would have then took ownership of the riot. A set up.

THIS!!!
I seem to recall video of Trump saying to people to calm down and stay peaceful?
But that doesn’t make McCarthy’s viewpoint any more valid?

Trump tells supporters to ‘go home.’
Trump did tell his supporters to go home at some point during that day.

Agree, my first thought too. In France, 10 years or so ago, the ‘refugees’ were torching up their neighborhoods, even more than usual. The government called on the Imams to stop the violence, and their first answer was “Screw you, we’re not going to be blamed for it.*” Of course it was their mob, so they were eventually forced to call an end to it. This was NOT Trump’s mob, and he had no requirement to take ownership of it.
Also, if the best-armed city, probably in the world (considering the military and civilian g-men with guns) CANNOT hold off a guy with horns trying to hang a picture of a black guy sitting on a bed, it’s not Trump’s fault.
It’s a set up, and I’m sure the Dems had this last minute stuff planned in advance. Supposedly Trump told McCarthy that his supporters cared more about the election than he did. Not sure how he was supposed to “call them off,” anyway, since he hadn’t encouraged or planned this in the first place,
