Closing arguments at former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial were expected to get underway Saturday morning — with each side granted two hours to make their final case to the US Senate before an expected vote on the verdict later in the day.

But Day 5 started instead with House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asking to subpoena records and call a witness sparking fierce debate with Trump defense lawyer Michael van der Venn.

Cassidy is a weird bird. He’s all over the place and HUGELY inconsistent to the point that I wonder if he’s suffering from some cognitive decline issues.

Right!

And In the process, the Dems will learn how fast two years can elapse.

Graham and Trump had a telephone conference a couple of days ago, so it’s possible that this was coordinated in case witnesses were called and that Graham’s vote was a strategic vote. I believe this gives him the right to intervene in the process in some way.

But since this whole show trial is being conducted without any adherence to normal legal procedures and standards for a trial, who knows? The Dems are just making it up as they go along.

“. I think the House hacks knew they were losing and dropped a turd in the fishbowl.”

Agree. Everyone piling on Lindsey need to take a deep breath.

Yep, Mitch needs to stop all Senate progress doing whatever he can to drag his feet.

How did the Pence aid know that Trump knew this information. Yesterday, Trump’s team said that Trump did not know this.

“Are the “rules“ simply a matter of what the majority of the Senate decides the “rules“ should be?”

Yes.

“Let’s bring in Mayor Bow wow and ask why she refused the Guard. Let’s put on Pelosi and ask why the police had such a small presence. Let’s put on the Sgt at Arms, and the Antifa guy first arrested and first released. Let’s bring in the guy who shot Ashli.”

YES!!!!

You know, you may be right. I saw him interviewed recently and thought to myself that he neither looked nor sounded "all there."

EXACTLY!

Let’s bring in zero and ask him Under oath, what he knows.

What does AOC know about her murder plot?

Let John Sullivan explain himself.

I believe this may be correct. You’ll often see one minority member vote with the majority just for this reason; it gives them some procedural power as the process moves forward.

So, there’s some chance Graham isn’t being a total D-bag here (but I wouldn’t bet the farm on that).

“House managers got their case shredded yesterday by the defense.”

Yes, but the ginned up new “evidence” (their “insurance policy”) to be released in case it wasn’t looking good for them. That evidence was released about 30 minutes ago.

They might hear it strictly on the basis of the Constitutionality of the Impeachment of a former Pres, now private citizen, but limit it to that legal point.

Bottom line is the House got their asses kicked yesterday so in their usual fashion they gin up another BS story with the media.

Too many knee jerk reactions in here with respect to Graham without having all the information.
