New Mexico asks Biden administration to resolve drilling policy 'confusion'

(Reuters) - New Mexico officials are asking the Biden administration to resolve confusion in the state’s oil and gas industry over a 60-day pause on allowing state-level staff to issue approvals for new federal lands drilling.

In a letter dated Feb. 9 but seen by Reuters on Wednesday, Sarah Cottrell Propst, secretary of New Mexico’s Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, asked the Department of Interior to clarify how right-of-way permits fit into the policy.

The order, issued Jan. 20, stripped Interior agencies and bureaus of their authority to issue new drilling leases or permits while it reviews the federal minerals leasing program as part of a broader agenda to fight climate change. The order did not limit existing operations and did not extend to permits necessary to preserve health and safety.

But Mr. Resident, we tried going back to the horse and buggy, but the horses were banned because they kept farting. We would try rickshaw drivers, but they fart, too.

Don’t “ask,” demand.

As I see each day how a suffering people in this benighted land continues to kiss the azz of our totalitarian masters in DC instead of kicking the DC bastards the hell out of their states I am becoming more convinced that the people in this country are too degenerate to survive as a nation any longer. The Chicoms have won this war without firing a shot. Very sad. Really.

Not me my FRiend. I am staying busy pushing the #TEXIT initiative to get Texas the hell out of the union.

Texans, we need supporters and volunteers.. Sign up at TNM.ME or visit site and visit the TEXIT page for the faqs about 2/3rds down.

We even got out of staters signed up as volunteers and some of them are coming to the Great Republic of Texas when it is free of DC and the 49 sucking sounds

I was going to spend some vacation in NM over the holidays...do some shooting at the Whittington center, take my wife to some sights further south...two week quarantine for visitors? Forget that. Take my money elsewhere.

There is only one elected Republican in the state now and you may not have voted for them but man that state is basically Vermont now politically

Not if they manage to pile oppression on top of oppression, and people just take it and become apathetic. Real resistance, not half-cocked adventures, is the only way. And by that I mean peaceable petitioning per the 1st amendment, and civil disobedience. The 2nd amendment is an insurance policy, in case the first one and civil disobedience both fail. But I don’t think they will.

People like you are the death of this country. We just had an exercise in peaceful resistance and civil disobediance, that is, a stolen election and a public protest in DC, to absolutely no avail, but that all just blew right by you. Anything true patriots might do to restore our stolen liberty, like nullification, non-comolianxe, and secession would undoubtedly be “half-cocked adventures” in your cowardly mind. That’s not for me. I’m at a bootlicker and azz kisser.

No avail? The usurper’s henchmen are hiding behind barbed wire for their kangaroo court, which is pre-doomed. Rudy just got back on you tube. Turn-coat congressmen have been censured at the state level. You expected to just add water and stir? I submit to you that civil disobedience/non-compliance takes great courage. Secession didn’t work 160 years ago, and shows no promise of working now. You have, what? “Assault rifles”? Good. Hang onto them to defend your family and neighbors. Drill with them to do it more effectively. But don’t fool yourself that you can take on a nuclear super power with them and live to tell about it. It’s not cowardly to recognize that fact. They’ll nuke the red flyover states ‘til they glow, and then keep three Derp blue-staters on hand within a biosphere of each state, in order to vote Dem and give them three electoral college votes. They’d rather you just obey slavishly and keep pumping out farm products and manufactured goods for them, but they don’t like you much, and they won’t show the mushroom clouds on TV.

Cowardly, am I? I’m talking sense, and if I were a coward I wouldn’t talk at all, just leave you to your own folly. I’m out of range of the fall-out from South Dakota, but not out of range of Jerusalem’s fall-out if Iran gets the bomb.

I can tell you about resistance. Israel gained its independence from the British Mandate by very cleverly-waged guerilla warfare, but not before 12 Irgun and Sternist fighters were hung. Their deaths served a purpose, to awaken the world’s conscience by how bravely they met them. Dying obscurely and without glory or notice accomplishes nothing.

What happened 160 years ago in the Civil War has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on how a new secession movement would unfold today. WW1 had little bearing on what happened in WW2 just twenty years later. The US military has about 1.3 million active duty personnel combined in all branches. There were about 80 million Trump voters in the last election. It would take a hell of a lot of killing by the US military to make a dent in the number of Trump voters they’d face. And the US military is not bloody likely to train their firepower on fellow Americans without seeing their own ranks crumble from servicemen sympathetic to the “rebels” with likely more of their own numbers going over to the “rebel” side. But this sort of talk about the fedgov nuking flyover country is ridiculous on its face. The government didn’t have the support or will to stop the rioting that has been going on for over a year. All that is necessary to bring this tyrannical dictatorship to its knees and for it to unravel like the ex-Soviet Union is for a state by state nullification, non-compliance, and secession movement to begin in earnest. Normalcy bias prevents dimwitted people from recognizing the signs of the times. They are caught unawares when circumstances radically change. The Roman people couldn’t imagine a time when the Roman Empire would end but it happened just the same. We live in such a time right now.
