The U.S. Senate voted on Feb. 9 to authorize the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, overruling an argument by the defense alleging the Senate doesnât have jurisdiction to try Trump because heâs now a private citizen.
Over the course of four hours, House impeachment managers and Trumpâs attorneys presented their arguments for and against the constitutionality of the trial. In the end, 44 Republican senators voted in favor of dropping the trial because itâs illegitimate, seven votes short of the majority needed to stop the proceedings at the gate.

Kangaroo Courts gonna Kangeroo.
It’s a toss-up at this point, who can get the worst treatment
in a court, Rittenhouse or Trump.
I’m going with Trump, because this is not legal by any
stretch of the imagination.
Just waitin’ on the rebound bite in the ass that the Dem’s will get in return....
When WILL witch hunt stop.
I think Trump’s lawyers should read that line in the Constitution: Article II, Section 4: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
Then demand that the house remove Trump from the room. Get him out.
But he is not in the room. So how do you demand that he be removed? Only if you are hallucinating. After all, you can’t remove a person who is not there.
Criminals.
All they need is 11 more spineless GOP Senators and he’s “convicted”
And if they “convict” Trump without any push back, they are only going to get worse, it’s going to embolden them. These are sick people, Nancy Pelosi, Schumer are insane people and I would not be surprised if they move onto repealing the 2nd next and anyone who protests gets arrested and “reeducated”. Everything they are doing is unconstitutional
They need 67 Senators to convict. I don’t see that happening.
The GOP wanted rid of trump as much as the Democrats.
That’s why they helped with the Big Steal.
Why? This is beyond disturbing.
You use the word, but why am I the only one pointing out the obvious?
The Senate does not decide constitutional matters. This is a separation of powers matter. The Senate openly violated the US Constitution just by taking up the question.
Harris is president of the US Senate.
Unconstitutional is not the point: The Senate VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION.
HARRIS VIOLATED THE US CONSTITUTION.
The silence of SCOTUS is deafening.
The US senate is NOW ON RECORD for determining that it has the authority to assume powers granted solely and specifically to the judiciary by the constitution.
This is VERY MUCH like governors, secretaries of state, and judges themselves determining that they have the authority to assume powers specifically granted to the legislative branch.
Now.. if you are within the executive branch, specifically the most powerful arm of the executive branch which is the US military, what does the constitution say about your duties towards the other co-equal branches of government which have clearly violated their oaths of office and assumed powers not granted them by the constitution?
When will the military be within it’s rights to step in and pull a Myanmar style move to LEGALLY set things straight???
What if the military is itself corrupt? How and when would we know this?
If the left is wondering why the right has not revolted yet, I can tell you why...
We still have faith in our military. They are our sons and daughter. WE KNOW they did not vote 100% for Biden. It is their move now. We know they understand the constitution and their duty to it.
Q or no Q.. it doesn’t matter anymore. The gauntlet has been cast down before the greatest military on the face of this earth.
We are waiting for their reply.
That was easy just break more laws like you already do by ‘legalizing’ your own crook constitution
[[These are sick people, Nancy Pelosi, Schumer are insane people]]
It’s more than just them- practically the whole damned lot of them are just as bad -
[[The Senate does not decide constitutional matters.]]
Good l uck getting any republican senators to state that fact, and demand that it be brought before the SC to decide if it is constitutional or not-
[[The US senate is NOW ON RECORD for determining that it has the authority to assume powers granted solely and specifically to the judiciary by the constitution.]]
Meh, the SC thinks it has powers to create laws-
