The Senate voted Tuesday to move ahead with the unprecedented impeachment trial of former President Trump after listening to hours of arguments on whether it is constitutional to try a president who is already out of office.
The vote was 56-44.
Trump's legal team said the trial is unconstitutional because he's no longer in office and can't face removal, which is the standard judgment of an impeachment conviction.

So, if only 56 senators even found the proceedings to be constitutional, even if ALL of them vote to convict that is not enough. And I imagine that at least some of the 6 defectors will vote against conviction. Sheesh! Enough already.
Something should happen. Not allowing the millions of voters that voted for Trump to get some resloution on this latest election and then watching the Dems conduct unconstitutional move after unconstitutional move is going to create something soon that the USSC will not be able to do anything about. Sitting on the sidelines is NOT a responsible thing to do.
