Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis defended a photo showing him maskless at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Tampa.
“Someone said, ‘Hey, you were at the Super Bowl without a mask,'” DeSantis told reporters Monday, according to Politico’s Marc Caputo. “But how the hell am I going to be able to drink a beer with a mask on? Come on. I had to watch the Bucs win.”
The image shows DeSantis sitting down without a mask in Raymond James Stadium while talking to an unknown individual less than six feet away from him. A second person is seen wearing a black mask in the suite next to DeSantis.

DeSantis has never imposed a mask mandate so he is not being a hypocrite here. Muck fasks!
Dr. Fauci was maskless at the baseball game, and that was ok.

DeSantis has a large contingent of supporters here in SW Florida. I admire that he’s going after big tech and remain hopeful that Florida will be declared a gun sanctuary state.
I agree. I would assume that we are not going to see a bunch new covid cases either. That will break the narrative.

You gotta love the contradictions that people accept with all of this mask nonsense. For example, players on the field (no masks) don’t spread the virus, but the refs on the field (masked) apparently do? Fans in stands (masked) spread the virus, but fans eating or drinking in stands (unmasked) don’t spread it. Active players going to sidelines (unmasked) don’t spread the virus, but inactive players on sidelines (masked) do spread it.
