This is about the third early election cycle in a row where
the Republicans have jumped ship in mass.
Kind of hard to keep the majority when you’re losing folks
all the time.
Incumbents have the best chance. We’re just handing that
seniority over.

He’s 86...that’s not exactly jumping ship.

Shelby is 86. Whatever GOP guy replaces him is a lock for the seat. Trump’s margin was 25%.

What seniority? Term limits for committees mean no one has seniority. The GOP retards who came up with committee term limits need to get over their impatience and learn to wait their turn. These committee term limits are leading to routine election losses, as pols who term limit out decide getting sent back to the minors isn’t worth the aggravation.

In his case, he’d be 88 running for re-election. So this makes sense.
We may have kept control of the House in 2018 but for the massive number of open seats. That caused resources to be stretched thin in an election cycle already a challenge since it was a midterm. And a lot of crazy stuff would have not have occurred...not necessarily a lot of good stuff, but the insanity of Schiff, Nadler, etc. controlling those committees would not have occurred.

Incumbents have the best chance. We’re just handing that seniority over.By design. Republican politicians prefer to be in the minority. That way they don't have to actually do anything.
