Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL), the ranking Republican member on the House Armed Services Committee, says Democrats were setting a precedent by expelling controversial freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from her assigned congressional committees.
During an interview that aired Friday on Mobile, AL radio FM Talk 106.5, Rogers explained there were plusses to Democrats spending time on Greene and impeachment. According to the Alabama GOP lawmaker, if Democrats continued to pursue Greene and former President Donald Trump, they were not passing legislation.
“You just described why I’m not that unhappy about what they’re doing,” he said. “I hope this impeachment trial in the Senate lasts three months. If they’re spending two or three months on an impeachment trial, they’re not passing bills into law. I’ve been doing this a long time. The further you go into an election cycle, the dimmer the chances of you passing meaningful legislation are happening. If you want to get big things done, you better do it in the first three or four months of a two-year cycle because big things don’t happen that closer that election gets to you. I want them to spend a lot of time on silly stuff because that means they’re not passing bills.”
Rogers said when Republicans eventually regained control of the U.S. House of Representatives, which is a strong possibility after the 2022 midterm elections, a GOP majority could pursue similar actions against Democrat House members imposed on Greene.

I agree with Mike Rogers. I wish a longer impeachment trial than what the Democrats and some in the Republican party want. The longer the impeachment trial, the stronger Wyoming Republican primary voters will vote out Liz Cheney. The Washington Times had an article that claims Liz Cheney has only a 1/53 chance of losing in a primary (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/what-are-the-odds-liz-cheney-loses-poor). I don’t agree with that article because Liz Cheney is from the minority party in the House of Representatives and the minority has almost no power and can’t really do anything to show voters a resume to convince voters to reelect them. If a popular Republican runs against Liz Cheny in the 2022 primaries, Liz can be beaten.

I blame my generation for not paying attention to them infiltrating our schools and universities only paying attention to the elections and slowly all along the bastards have been indoctrinating our kids!! When the government under Obama took over student loans that was also crucial made it so much easier to push everyone into the these commie universities where kids learn NOTHING but to hate America and if they are white to hate themselves!!

Unfortunately Representative Rodgers, the R’s will never regain a majority. We in Alabama thank you for your support for President Trump, but weasels like Senator Richard Shelby have shown us that no matter what letter you have behind your name, or what state you represent, Republicans have lost lots of support among us conservatives. We put Tommy Tuberville in the Senate, and hope to replace Shelby with Mo Brooks. Needless to say, you are correct in saying that R’s need more nuts.
