"If you're Trump this is rather a no brainer," wrote Twitter user Janet Mullins Grisson, in regards to Trump representing himself.

"With Senate Rs aka the jury on the record that impeaching former president is unconstitutional why spend money on lawyers?"

The news of the legal shakeup online has garnered many similar responses, especially with the impeachment trial set to begin the week of February 8.

Even if he is convicted, he can still help primary squishy Republians and anti-American Democrats.

At his age, he’s unlikely to run for President, but he can still run a SuperPAC and create a freedom oriented website, with the equivalent of Facebook, Twitter, snapchat and whatever.

It seems to me from what I seen 90+% of lawyers now days are crooks and/or liars. It might do well to hear from a honest man for once, but maybe I gotten naïve in my old age. So few want to hear the truth any more,

Trump should ask Dershowitz to represent him. In this type of trial I think he would speak logic to power.

Should Trump represent himself? I’m no lawyer, but I’d strongly advise against that.

Chief Justice Roberts has already said that he would not preside over this farce. So Senate president pro tempore Patrick Leahy will preside. Leahy is VERY partisan. Leahy would try to embarrass Trump at every turn. He’d rule Trump out of order should Trump just say “Good morning.”

Stay far away from this, Mr. Trump.

He who represents himself, has a fool for a lawyer.

I like that quotation. I can think of many people who need to have it said to them directly.
Where is the quotation from, or did you just write it yourself?

Exactly. Nanzi and Chuckie will activate their antifa cells and tell them to come dressed as Trump supporters.

So do Banana Republics. See tagline. I never dreamed I would be living in such a Banana Republic.

I read that DJT is fixated on the stolen election and the lawyers only wanted to defend the issue of impeaching someone no longer in office.

This isn’t good at all.

They’re saying they can prevent him from ever holding office again by a simple majority. What’s missing? He has to be convicted first.
+++++
According to Alan Dershowitz (Big D lawyer) the Senate lacks the power to bar Trump from running in 2024 win or lose the Senate trial.

I think he is correct about that plus the chance that he will be be convicted is very close to zero..

Just ignore it and say it’s Unconstitutional. He could really screw things up. He needs to stop. This is now about the future of the Republican Party, not just him. he needs to be smart about it.

He is not the President any longer and is not answerable to the Senate.

—————————————————

I disagree. He IS the president. He did win the election, did he not? The fact that millions of votes were illegally moved from his column to Biden‘s does not matter. The fact the Democrats held a sham inauguration also does not matter. See tagline. President Trump is a president in exile and the Senate knows it. That is why they are trying to legally remove him from office.
