I want one that will go 400 miles on a charge and recharge in 15 minutes while I take a pee and buy a soft drink.

Assuming there is enough electricity to charge it and it is priced reasonably, I am all in for that car. But as it is, electric cars are virtue signals for rich people.
Yep. Same here. If it can’t go as fast, as far and cost isn’t competitive I don’t want to hear about it.
And I’m still waiting to see a study on environmental impact of the manufacture and disposal of the batteries. From what little I know its WAY worse than a gas powered car over same lifetime. You’d think the tree huggers would be all over that.
And speaking of tree huggers, something they can’t wrap their heads around is where the other end of that charger cord is plugged in.

Electric cars are already going 450-500 miles and new batteries coming out fully charge in 5 minutes or less.
I for one will be glad no more oil changes, air filter, trans filter etc etc.
Did you want a neighborhood grid that handle every household charging an electric car as well?
I worked with a salesman who bought a 2nd hand EV because he put so many miles on a vehicle he figured it would pay for itself very quickly. All was good for about a year when he discovered he had to replace almost $4000.00 in batteries. He traded it in as quick as he could.
You'd probably have to get a much heavier electric cord:
What the EV advocates don’t tell you is that we don’t have the electrical system capacity (generation, transmission and distribution) to shift the energy delivered at the gas pump to delivery by the electrical system.
To use your numbers, in the time of 15 minutes, you need something like 100-350 kW capacity to charge an EV for 400 miles travel. That’s between 25-87.5 kWh. For comparison an average home uses around 1,000 kWh per MONTH.
I want one that will go 400 miles in the Winter with the radio and heater on in a single charge and recharge in 15 minutes while I take a pee and buy a soft drink.
I assume Texans and Arizonans could make a similar edit for Summer and Air Conditioning...
