Even though some establishment Republicans have sided with Democrats in their support of an impeachment effort against former President Donald Trump, plenty of other GOP leaders are vehemently opposed to the idea.
In fact, GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham recently told Fox News host Sean Hannity that even some Senate Democrats are souring on the idea based on its perceived political downsides to the effort pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“There’s more than a handful of Democrats praying that [President] Joe Biden will get on the phone and call [Senate Democratic Leader Chuck] Schumer and say it’s over because they understand this is going to blow up in their face politically,” he said.

Pelosi, Schumer, Wyden, Merkely and Repukes who always vote with the demonrats need to ALL GO. Take senile Waters out too.
The whole occupation regime needs to leave or be arrested.

I wouldn’t be surprised, in their zeal to equate Trump with Hitler, they drop it because they don’t want to give Trump a forum, like Hitler got, during his trial for The Beer Hall Putsch.

It is my belief..rightly or wrongly..that Trump played a game of chicken with Mitch.
Mitch was all for impeachment until it looked like Trump might go through with a party to come after the GOP
It was reported that he sent a cut-out to Mitch who said he promised not to start a third party.

I agree with your post except for the affirmative action part. Nancy is no affirmative action appointment. She got where she is by being a hardened political bully who can keep her caucus in line by the mere threat of her revenge if they stray. While it may appear that the “squad” has triumphed against her, look to see what happens as soon as the squad ceases to be politically useful to her as a distraction or otherwise. Nancy’s own daughter said Nancy would happily smile and compliment you while she was in the process of cutting off your head.

Rather then spend their last years with family or traveling or gardening or whatever, they hang on to torment the nation and enrich their crooked clan.

My Mom used to tell a story from when we were kids. One morning, Dad was trying to sleep in, and the kids were playing loudly upstairs. One of my brothers, who was a toddler at the time, walked past our parents’ bedroom, and Dad called him into the room. He sent my brother upstairs with a message. So he toddled up the stairs to the other kids, and loudly said “You kids shut the hell up!” It got real quiet. Nobody thought that toddler had any authority, but they knew that message didn’t come from him. I think it will be the same for Biden.

I want the 2nd impeachment trial to go as long as possible. But I believe Schumer already said that this second trial will be shorter than the 21 days of the first trial. That’s why I believe the Democrats won’t allow witnesses in this second trial.
As a side note, ABC’s Rachel Scott was enthusiastically reporting on the behind the scenes of the impeachment trial on January 25. However after Rand Paul forced a Senate vote on whether this trial was constiutional, the fact that 45 Senate Republicans voted that it was unconstitutional dampened Rachel Scott’s enthusiasm when she was on ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir on January 26.
There will be a Senate trial. They think they will look even more foolish if they don’t bother with a trial ... so it will go on.
