Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) voted in favor of a resolution declaring the impeachment trial of former President Trump “unconstitutional” on Tuesday.

* * *

However, only five Republicans voted against the resolution: Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. At the close of the impeachment trial itself, at least 17 Republican senators would need to join Democrats in order to convict Trump.

Haha, Cocaine-China Mitch saw the writing on the wall.
Clearly, so did others.

President Trump’s fine fellow Americans have sent a loud, powerful message.

Their votes count. The rest of us have to deal with rigged elections.

Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

The usual suspects. Impeaching a former president is fine with them. That the Supreme Court Justice refuses to sit as a judge for the “trial” is fine with them.

Romney, et al, have already made up their mind, Trump is guilty. Guilty of something, anything, everything.

If he thinks he will *ever* be the GOP nominee in 2024 for president, Romney is truly in a bubble.

If the Constitution doesn’t count, we’re finished as a nation.

What happened, Mitch? I thought you were jumping up and down with glee at the prospect of sending Trump to the slammer.

He still has brown stuff behind his ears, but okay.

There was a rebellion brewing against him and others.

...still is...

Politically speaking, he’s a lame duck walking...

I don’t give a crap what turtle does. He has no business being in a leadership position of conservatives. He is a fake and has done more damage to this country then any democrat ever could. He is as much behind the deep state as anyone in DC, or the country for that matter.

At this point, I could care less what he does as he’s already proven his treachery. May his chains rest upon him heavily.

China Mitch and those of his ilk, couldn’t give a crap about America or Americans, but their ability to remain a member of the Washington Generals of politics would be devastated if they went along with impeachment.

Self preservation, nothing more, nothing less.

Kudos Rand Paul.

The GOP/RNC have been doing frantic fundraising in the past several weeks. Maybe they got some furious feedback. I responded to every request and not with money, I assume many others did as well.

One of their stupid headings read “HELP DRAIN THE SWAMP”. (If you can believe that). I responded, “yes, I want to help drain the swamp and that is why you will not get one red cent from me.”
