Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma has been awarded the 2022 PGA Championship after the tournament was stripped from former US President Donald Trump's Bedminster course, the PGA of America said.
"We're excited to return to SHCC for the fifth time," the PGA of America said in a statement released on Monday.
"The course offers a tough-but-fair test for the strongest field in golf."
The 2022 championship will take place at the Tulsa course from May 16-22.

Just need to make up other tournaments to play at Trump’s place(s). Who gives a hoot about PGA etc, start new ones. Gotta be plenty of good golfers that voted for Trump in 75+ million people.
We will. I wonder how many fans are liberals? Nascar and now PGA don’t realize who their fans are and don’t appreciate them. Like the GOP.
I wonder how many fans are liberals?
Probably not many, 50 years old and down.
Which is amazing how the 40 and under agers/liberals are often the prime target of the big company’s advertising.
Buh-bye PGA.
Yes. Still headquartered in PBG, but moving to Texas (supposedly).
Good luck finding a judge willing to enforce the contract.
Just more time freed up to do things that really matter
Goodbye golf you just didn’t learn, did you
Instead of watching, go out and play!
They may have felt it just wasn’t worth it to specifically perform and instead make a cash payment it’s clearly a breach of contract
I hope the PGA goes the way of the NFL. Why watch anyway? Trying to put a little ball in a hole in the ground. Think about it. Really.
Better than C-Span, a bunch of meglomaniacs trying to put a little graft and cash in a little pant pocket.
Just take the kids/grandkids to the golf course. putt putt or make your own course in the back yard or even the living room. No need for the professionals.
To awoke get broke
Again, this isn’t the PGA Tour making this decision (though they did take Doral away a few years ago). This is the PGA of America.
All sports are stupid when you think about them. Trying to get a little ball in a hole in a field is no dumber than throwing a larger one into a basket or hitting a hardball and running to a base without being thrown "out", etc. We wax poetic over guys who have a talent for doing something that requires unnecessary skills. "Real" sports would be something like Olympic competition; who's fastest, strongest, jumps highest, etc.
Of the major sports, I always thought American Football had the most appeal because it is essentially a battle in miniature with one team/army attacking and the other defending. The line and running backs are like infantry, and the wide receivers are like flanking cavalrymen.
Golf is now the last sport I watch (other than Battlebots). Now that the Tiger/Phil era is more or less over, I can't get interested in it much these days, so I guess that just leaves Battlebots.
Bread and Circus. Piece Fren.
Yep, all the woke a*sclowns that are club pros.
Is that you Sheldon? Jk
My friend Mickie is PDJT’s director of golf at Bedminster. I can’t imagine what he is going to lose in merchandising. He probably had logo-ed shirts in the shop 2 years ago and boxes and boxes of them ready for this spring.
He should mark them up and sell them as collectors items, but then again the PGA wouldn't allow that.
