I’m in.....already recinded my Republican affiliation....I will never support a Republican again.
This is the democrat dream come true.
—
The democrats already had their dream come true when they established total control and ownership of the US electoral system in 2020.
A third party will not swing elections to Democrats, since the Dem machine has already determined winners and losers prior to the election. The hard part will be getting proof that anyone voted 3rd party in sufficient numbers to beat a Republican or Democrat, due to vote switching, running a batch multiple times, Chinese pre-printed ballots, fractional tabulation, etc.
A large party like that could be a king maker. Your options would be:
1. Run your own candidate.
2. Endorse a different candidate.
3. Sit out an election.
An actively campaigning Donald Trump could get north of 40% and peel off considerable support from the Dems, but could not win against the fraud. A Trump led Patriot party in 2022 would cost the Republicans almost every contested seat in Congress.
A perfect recipe for an immense Dem landslide, from which we will never recover.
Check out the 1912 election for a preview.
I agree! McConnell, McCarthy, Graham, et al., have been deserving of this for years...and they deserve to get it GOOD AND HARD.
The GOP belongs in Turd place.
Playing the GOPe game hasn't done anything good for us. If we keep going that way, 2024 will turn out just like 2020.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
I see no evidence that the GOP is willing to work to weed out the wobblies and RINOs. Quite the opposite.
Repeating the same efforts that have failed in expectation of differing results was called something by a famous scientist...
I find it interesting that many who espouse to "stay the course" have no suggestion on how to maintain the same course without striking the same rocks in front of the ship.
Man I’d really like to share your optimism. But I’ve seen too many bright eyed young bucks assimilated in to the collective. All the way back to 1994.
Which like all 3rd party attempts means the Left wins, just as when idiots who correctly were fed up with Washington D.C. voted for the idiot Ross Perot. I think the same thing may have happened when evangelicals wouldn’t vote for Mormon Romney, not because he was not Conservative enough, but just because he is Mormon.
We are not a nation where splintering off builds parties, it only tears them down.
Big Example: The Bull Moose (Teddy Roosevelt) gave us Woodrow Wilson.
Building a party is building a coalition of folks you can agree with on essentials more often than you will disagree with. Total ideological purity is for the splinters that remain alone and unwilling to gain strength by coalitions WITHIN a party.
Example: I think the Libertarian Rand Paul has been far more successful and effective in the GOP than any any never elected member of the official Libertarian Party.
Example: Pro-Life Republicans have been shaping the GOP for decades and usually, within the party, quite successfully so. How would they have fared if they had chosen not to build from within the GOP but instead to leave it? I think none of what they have gotten done in government well would have been done at all.
I've got people on here telling me that a Trump third party run will double Perot's vote percentage and draw another 5% from Dems. I don't see it happening.
It will be a Dem plurality win with an EV landslide, just like Bill Clinton in 92.
So what’s the problem? Democrook or republicrat same difference isn’t it. The cesspool is the cesspool and it makes no difference which snake is running the show.
We need a second party.
Trump nixed his Patriot Party idea.
However, a history lesson is appropriate here - so I direct FR’s “third party” supporters to peruse the election of 1912:
On the Republican side was the incumbent - William Howard Taft.
On the Progressive Republican side was Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose Party, who opposed Taft.
On the Progressive Democrat side was Woodrow Wilson.
And then there was the perennial socialist, Eugene Debs ...
We all know the outcome: Taft’s Republican Party and Roosevelt’s Bull Moose Party split the ballot 23 - 27 percent (IIRC); socialist Eugene Debs took 6 percent, and Wilson won the presidency, taking 444 electoral votes with just 42 percent of the ballot. That led to the “progressive era” of Wilsonian liberalism, which, among other national disasters, led the U.S. into the futile endeavor that was WWI - which in turn set the stage for the rise of Hitler and WWII.
That is the reality of third party politics.
Our political system is a winner-take-all arrangement. We are not a parliamentary system; thus a third party would have no effective representation in Congress. We would neither be able to secure 270 electoral votes in a presidential election.
Why should we Republicans concede our party to the establishment hacks? We built it. They have all the contacts, all the e-mail lists, all the money WE raised for them, all the infrastructure. It ALL belongs to us, and we should not abandon any part to the RINOs and GOPe.
What we need to do is to fight them at every turn, and take the party back from these fools. Don’t run to a third party - that is a sure-fire way to lose every future election.
I’m in. By the middle of Biden/Harris term, the % will grow.
Educate yourself. Start here: Article V: Assert our Sovereignty.
BTW, the states have sent at least several hundred applications for a COS. We the People are owed a COS NOW!
“Your not smart enough to think outside the box and think ahead.”
“And Trump stood a good chance of loosing.”
*****
It’s “you’re” Mr. I-Am-Smart and it doesn’t surprise me that grown adults here well in their 40’s are too stupid to even grasp the difference between “lose” and “loose”, and use in a sentence. But since a limp-wrist surrender monkey like you who readily and happily accepted a Biden regime, good luck with that..
Not the way it works.
How do you think it works?
So we should vote for repubs that are almost demos to preserve a party that despises us? I don’t think so!
