Oil and gas leaders in New Mexico are raising concerns over President Joe Biden’s recent executive action that put a 60-day pause on new oil and gas leases on federal land.

In New Mexico, the industry accounts for nearly one-third of the state’s general fund revenues, and industry officials said even a temporary halt on leasing will hurt the state.

“Oil and gas leaders say Biden moratorium on new drilling will hurt New Mexico”

Hurting oil and gas regions is the point. It’s not an accident.

Those that didn’t vote for Mush
Head will suffer also. It’s not
fair that you lump us all together
as an assessment to a bad decision.
I take offense to your comment.

New Mexico has got to get rid of their corrupt, leftist governor and far-left political hacks or else their economy will go right down the drain.

I’ve worked on environmental cleanup cases for New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, California, etc. so for some clown from an “environmental” group that was quoted as saying that we aren’t, he’s full of crap.

The Dept. of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Div. is one of the best DOJ units in the country, esp. their Environmental Defense, Crimes, and Enforcement Sections. Those people care, politics be damned. I’ve worked with them for almost 30 years and saw them achieve very significant “superfund sites” cleanup liability victories which helped get the cleanup work started, often before an agreement or court victory ever took place.

Don’t listen to environmental leftists and hack Democrat politicians who ignorantly hate “oil and gas”. If it weren’t for those industries, states like New Mexico would still be a sandbox for wildlife to crap in, instead of a source of energy and employment for many people, including the Native Americans.

Grisham and her Democrat neo-Marxist Luddites want to take new Mexico back to the wood stoves age instead of into the better energy sources age (and I don’t mean much about solar energy - feasible but expensive and used solar panels are chemically dangerous to water supplies and waste dumps.

Common sense is needed in NM but you won’t get it from most Democrats down there.

Ask one simple question: Where is the scientific proof of your statement? Not someones opinion but the preponderance of evidence for your ‘position’. They cannot produce it.

they will flounder and drown but not before excoriatating you and call you names and threatening things like arrest.

I’m from Texas but I spend allot of time in New Mexico both oil and gas related and for recreation. New Mexico has the same problem many states do in that they have a couple of urban anthills that run the state. We’re not much different here in Texas with 5-6 Counties having such a huge voter impact. State wide about 85% of the state votes conservative but it’s not enough to overturn the huge urban vote.

Well sucks to be them.

Children usually need to touch the stove to understand that it’s hot.

I’m accepting bets on which state will be the first to refuse to comply with the illegitimate edicts issued by an illegitimate tyrannical federal government. Any takers? And GOPee Delenda Est!

Traitor Joe doesn’t care because Dominion has New Mexico’s 4 EC votes for 2024 already locked in.

Sixty years ago, when I lived in NM, the state had great jobs, great schools and great opportunities for the future.

Then Dad dragged us kids kicking and screaming to the economically depressed tick and chigger infested Ozarks. Talk about Culture Shock!

In the last sixty years New Mexico had fallen to the worst poverty level and the schools are considered the worst in the USA, beating out Arkansas and Mississippi for the bottom.
The Ozarks, NW corner only, are an economic powerhouse now.

That’s exactly what’s going on,
along with some out of state
college students voting in two
of those anthills. I worked for
NMO&G years ago, drawing oilfield
maps.
