I’m very disillusioned like many of you, but I’ve been saying for days, similar to the title for this article: “God’s got US right where he wants us.”
He has allowed these things to happen so we will depend on Him.
That’s where the original colonies were. Farmers. By definition, farmers are dependent on God. Rain, hail, blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, droughts, freezes, you name it, God controlled it. Just like today.
Will we have to do what the original colonies did? I pray not. Can we depend on God to save us? We can and we should, but He may not. He allowed His own people to be conquered by Babylon, and I would argue Israel was more important than America. He allowed them to have horrible kings, and plagues. (Sound familiar?)
Bottom line - take your gloomy, “We are doomed” attitudes and put them away. Depend on God. He will save His people one way or another. We can pray it will be by saving our country, and we need to work at that if that’s what we want.
Or, it could be that it’s time for our country to fall, and He’s in charge of that, as well. But we don’t need to declare anything over until it is. The Founding Fathers didn’t. The guys at the Alamo didn’t. (Yes, I know, but they never gave up.) Our men stormed the beaches of France and didn’t quit until they took Berlin.
God help us. He’s the only one who can. To quote Charles Stanley, “When you figure out who God is, you don’t have to worry about what He does.”
