President Trump reportedly discussed forming a new political party – the Patriot Party – after “feuding” with the Republican establishment.

The Wall Street Journal reported the following in its January 19th piece entitled “Trump Has Discussed Starting a New Political Party”:

President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.

Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.

Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.

Put the republicans back in charge? Why? Do you have the slightest evidence they have learned their lesson?
They had the House, the Senate and the White House. They spent four years roadblocking, investigating, and boxing in their own president who the American people loved.
They stood by and watched the steal, and in some cases participated. They are calling him a leader of an insurgent movement, and calling US his insurgents.

Tell me again why I want them back in power in 2022?

...Dems may get supermajorities

This should scare the living daylights out of any reasonable person. They get to propose amendments once they hit 2/3s and can impeach and remove anybody they feel like.

[[Unlike Ross Perot or other 3rd party candidates who tried to build up from zero, Trump is starting with a winning hand.]]

Exactly- folks like Ross had at best a few million maybe? TRump has over 70 Million already- huge difference-

Schumer warned Trump that the intelligence community “they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” (Of course the intelligence community is made up of liberals too who call the shots)

Well, Now it looks like Trump might just have just as many ways of getting back at them politically- perhaps

I think Pompeo will run if Trump is somehow impeached.

Otherwise I expect him to run as Trump’s VP.

The only way it would work is with “run off” elections, where the top two candidates face off if no one reaches 50% +1 vote. Otherwise, a third party is just a spoiler.

Since few states work this way, Dems would hold the WH, HoR and Senate for at least 16-20 years until 1 party of the other was reduced to less than 5-10% of the vote. Within 10-15 years, SCOTUS would likely be majority left, with Thomas and Alito replaced by Biden and Harris regimes. 40 million new voters will have been imported or given citizenship via amnesty, and another 40 million brainwashed by public schools to replace dying conservative voters.

It would actually be the fastest and most effective way to erase Trump’s legacy. But hey, Let’s Roll! Who cares, right?

They cant impeach him they already have. They will try to convict the which is a direct violation of the former constitution.

BTW, this impeachment in the house was also in direct violation.

The Donald was denied due process in this last debacle. If they try to convict him that is a classic Bill of Attainder.

He should go to the supreme court and then if they refuse the case, then its secession.

True, today. But if nothing else, 2020 showed us how fast things can change. In the wrong way, but the point is that democrats are doing their damndest to hate Trump more than some members of their own party but the anger is there and once they no longer have Bad Orange Man to blame everything on, it will boil over and the democrap party may not look and sound the same a year from now.

I’m not saying we should hope to recruit Rats, but there are quite a few in the Maga coalition already and after the destruction Xiden will unleash starts to sink in, some may come looking for a safe harbor where adults are in charge and the country comes first. Think about the Rats from states filled with pissed-off Trump supporters who just got screwed. The half of the Senate and 3/4 of the House whose names no one would even recognize - those are the ones who may have a reason to join the resistance.

I don’t thing Trump is the kind of man who will just go away quietly. And I don’t think he’s the kind who likes to be cheated.

you dont have 75 million that just who voted for trump though with what happened would not be surprised if more voted for trump then 75 million. of that number most are still loyal to the republican party. being realistic I think that you could get a sizable chunk but then you have to keep them after trump is no longer actively involved. that’s where the problem is. You cant form a viable party around one man. ross Perot tried and it was gone within 10 years. I dont want to be a part of a party that’s only purpose is to elect one person and has no long term viability...get Ted Cruz. Devon Nunez and a few experienced politicians and I would consider it if the party platform was one that I liked.

The writer assumes that the Trump voter cares about victory the first time around...the truth is that most of us want vengeance and if that means the dims win the next election in 2022, fine. McConnell will be tossed out by his party and they will come, hat in hand, to Trump for 2024.

Sure, it feels good and hypothetically 70 million plus could join but upwards of 80 million voted for Trump and the left swatted that away with ease.

If a patriot party is going to pardon scumbags like Kwame Kilpatrick and Sheldon Silver, then I’ll have nothing to do with it.
