President Trump reportedly discussed forming a new political party – the Patriot Party – after “feuding” with the Republican establishment.
The Wall Street Journal reported the following in its January 19th piece entitled “Trump Has Discussed Starting a New Political Party”:
President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.
Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.
Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.
I was thinking he could resurrect the Constitution Party. I don’t they’ve been active the last few years.
for me to be interested Trump would need to get at least 10 major republican senators and reps still holding office to leave the party and join the new party other wise its just a bull moose party and damage more then help the situation.
If any new Party could get a phenomenal jump-start and hit the ground running, it would be a Trump-led Patriot Party. Seventy-five million pissed of Patriots from the get-go. The Republican Party would be drained faster than you could say boo. Job one, however, is to fix the election system.
If you are referring to the new party gaining seats in the congress, what will happen is that the elites will have to deal with them by committee appointments and negotiating with them.
The best thing is for the new party to take control of the county seats and state legislatures first.
In fact..it could work out that although the national socialists might have a majority, with the new parties seats, they will never have a super majority.
Example-the socialists hold 4 seats, but the elites hold three and the new party holds two.
The GOP as joined with the Rat party so they’re one as I see it.
I was thinking along the same lines But Trump also talked about primary challenges.
Maybe he is thinking about a party that fights both inside and outside the GOP and pragmatically cannibalizes off of it.
This is really a no-brainer.
Trump is never going to be able to pull off another 2016-like win in the Republican party, he surprised them once but now they know what to expect and how to beat him. Nor does he need their fund-raising machinery, and his base is already as large or larger than theirs. He doesn’t need them.
But they need him. Unlike Ross Perot or other 3rd party candidates who tried to build up from zero, Trump is starting with a winning hand. The GOP can act all cocky for a while but all Trump has to do is deny them enough votes to win anything and there’s their “existential threat”.
The Dems will fracture and the split will deepen as constituents let them know know unpopular the radical leftist policies are. To save their cushy jobs and perks, moderate Dems will start to reform again and some of them may well find the Patriot Party aligns with their needs better than the radical socialists.
The result of all this could well be coalition government which would be a first in the US but a welcome change from the Uniparty. All Trump has to do is pull enough of his supporters away from the R and D branches of the Uniparty and soon he’s on an equal footing and they won’t be able to get clear victories without his help. Even if they convict him in the Senate, his support is not going away and Don Jr. can ascend with The Donald acting as the Chairman of the Board and Kingmaker.
The ONLY way to win going forward is to change the game. And the best way to predict the future is to create it.
NAh....Pres. Trump gave us our party back.....the rest have joined with the Demorats.
If PRESIDENT TRUMP does start a new party that means that I will have to change my registration twice in one month.
SIGN ME UP!
Nigel Farage had UKIP. Although UKIP did not do well in elections-they did have some gains, it caused BREXIT and it caused the Labour party to just about collapse. EVEN with a “conservative” Prime minister-May, who was a useless as all get out, Farage managed to be the point of the spear in winning the BREXIT.
I would strongly urge the Donald to have Farage advise him on this since the man is a political genius.
As it is said that when the midterm comes up, it is the party in power that WILL GET SLAMMED.

“according to people familiar with the matter”
The same words in every article about trump that turned out to be untrue.
Until I hear from trump himself, Im labeling this one “fake news”
Is there a list somewhere we can add our name to?
We need to get rolling. The 2022 elections will soon be here.
The party will need to be formed, money raised, candidates named, etc. just as soon as possible. By this summer at the latest.
I really like the idea of established conservative politicians joining. Provided they are willing to forego the current “go along to get along” mentality. Their experience could be a big help.
Keep a close eye on 2022.
I look to see Pompeo run the nest time. Hope I spelled that name right.
Also a third of voters are unaffiliated and ripe for the picking.
Basically Congress is just one party changing deck chairs now. One Party masquerading as two. I do believe the American people are ready to have their own party.... and Trumps elections revealed this.
If he wants to do it now is the time to do it without much delay. Emotions are still raw from the Uniparty theft of the election and the majority of his 75 million will sign on.
