President Trump reportedly discussed forming a new political party – the Patriot Party – after “feuding” with the Republican establishment.
The Wall Street Journal reported the following in its January 19th piece entitled “Trump Has Discussed Starting a New Political Party”:
President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.
Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.
Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.
It is a lousy name.
Received official confirmation of my disaffiliation from the Stupid Party in yesterday's mail.
You can’t hurt something that is already dead.
I love all the optimism here.
Sad and funny at the same time.
I am taking my flag down today.
The USA is dead.
Twitter and Gab patriots agree with overwhelmingly. Me too.
We will follow Trump’ s lead on party structure. No matter who is elected the only mandarte opposed to him is election riggging.
The fix for leftists cheating is opposition party members getting more involved in precincts and counting centers, and more assertive of their prerogatives. No more getting pushed out or kept at a distance.
In Georgia, Stacy Abrams is public enema number one and is to be gone after. That bitch is going to be forced into early retirement.
Purging is far easier. Look how quickly Liz Cheney is getting crushed.
Crush the GOPe! 🐉
Trump will be arrested in the first 24 hours.
Game on.
Where do I sign?
I’m getting the HELL out of the R party and never looking back!
Yes. We have to start with the state legislatures and voter laws. Got to do something about that damned vote by mail BS!
Need to make voter ID mandatory!
I totally agree with your take! The fact that Democrats will always cheat is a GIVEN; the real problem is that we have no remedy for the Democrat’s cheating. We have suffered through Boehner and Ryan and McConnell and Grahamnasty far too long. The only problem with starting up a third party has always been that we would have to start from scratch, with no name, with no base constituency, with no message-—— if we jump on with Pres. Trump— we’ve overcome those stumbling blocks. This CAN work, and we’ve learned LONG and HARD that what we have will NEVER work.
Who knows what the scumbags will do. They sure as hell want him out for good!
We are going to be in the political wilderness for at least a decade, and during that time, the Left is going to be digging in, consolidating their slanting of the table, institutionalizing via a packed Supreme Court and stacked legislatures including the new states of DC and Puerto Rico.
It is it going to be difficult to overcome if it can be overcome at all.
But one thing is clear: The Republicans do not represent the interests of tens of millions of Americans.
By their feckless silence and open acquiescence during this travesty, they showed they were perfectly content to slit their own throats (and the throat of OUR country) for two or six more years in office so they could ride the gravy train a little bit longer.
POTUS should declare the Republican party DEAD due to Bushies and RINOs and advise every PATRIOT to reregister as a Democrat. Cant beat them? Join them and vote in conservative Democrats. Mess with their primaries and such....
I beg to differ. As a co founder of a local chapter of the Tea Party, endorsing local candidates who espoused our principles got us the worst bunch of RINOS this country has ever seen. It’s really easy of for the politically naive to be used.
You have to hold candidates accountable once they are in offices regardless of their party affiliation.
Don't be so sure of that.
Trump has 70+ million Americans solidly behind him and most of us are fed up and disgusted with the Republican party. Look for a lot of existing pro-American GOP officeholders (i.e. Matt Goetz, Jim Jordan) to either switch over or at least align with the new "Patriot" party.
That would leave the backstabbing RINOs all by their lonesome.
This could happen quickly. In the past, it might have taken decades to build out the infrastructure a new political party but in the age of the Internet, those barriers have been removed. Trump could join or create a new social media platform next week and will have tens of millions of Americans on it.
Pull in Bannon to help get organized like in 2016, and hook up with RSBN for PR, and get going.
After last week, he pretty much knows whom he can’t trust, so that vetting is done.
Bottom line, hr’s be crazy as hell to stay in politics, unless he’s a masochist and/or has a death wish.
1000’s times easier to primary them out. Plus, if you believe that the democrats are rigging elections, why would starting a new party change the outcome?
This thread is a perfect example of the real problem opponents to Leftism face:
A third party is not likely to work unless the one it replaces is destroyed. We all know this, because now we would have two candidates chasing the same number of votes, and the other side wins. All the conservative pundits top to bottom Dan Bongino, Bill Whittle, Rush Limbaugh, I am going to guess would not support a third party. (Just a guess, overall. I know Dan Bongino doesn’t.)
And if a third party were created, that losing dynamic would go on for four, five, or six more election cycles, during which time, the other side would be cementing things in place to entrench their position, including voting laws that are “legal” on their face, but are really put in place to prevent anyone but a Leftist from getting into office.
But back to my original point-look at this thread to see the real short term problem that has two parts:
PART 1: The electoral process is broken, and it isn’t going to get fixed in the next four years, although they will make every effort with solemn pronouncements of how important this is to our country, and we’ll need to fix the problems, blah, blah, blah. They won’t fix them, they will engage in election fraud, and we won’t, and there won’t be any exposure or prosecution of any fraud. In summary, the electoral process isn’t an option.
PART 2: Look at the people on this thread. Surely, some of them will “come around” and participate in the rigged elections again, but a huge number will not, and for valid and rational reasons. The Left does not have that problem, so they will lose no voters. The end result is, we lose, again. And again. Because even if it were only 10% of conservative voters who will refuse to participate in the fake elections (or even FAIR elections) that is all the Left needs to hold onto power. (NOTE: I think the percentage is far, FAR greater than my out of the hat estimate of 10%. I think it is closer to 30%, and that is a minimum.
SUMMARY: It does not make much difference either way, creating a new party, or accepting there are tens of millions of conservatives who aren’t going to vote, or who are going to vote for some other meaningless candidate. It looks bleak either way.
I see only Tyranny or Bloodshed ahead, and I hope I am wrong. It may be next year. It may be 20 years. But the Left plans (and has already started) to turn us into criminals. Even before Biden stepped in, the Left is already in the process of finding the man, and matching him up with a crime as Beria famously did.
It started with just being associated with Trump or even simply voting for him or supporting him, but as they consolidate power, I predict they are initially going to use our fixed attachment to our 2nd Amendment rights as a lever to turn us into lawbreakers.
There is no legitimate impeachment danger. Congress does not have the constitutional authority to impeach a former President.
