I think many on this site would be shocked on how many “ordinary conservatives” who are not well informed of what is happening in the swamp. Plenty of them voted for Trump not because they really believed in MAGA but because he had a (R) beside his name. We have way too many people who are on our side because it’s their side too, similar to that of supporting an athletic team. I’ll take them on our side but know they aren’t going to get their hands dirty in taking out the GOPe and RINOs.

You are over the target here. We have many on our side that are weak and prone to surrender. There is something about the GOP that attracts these milquetoast types. They’d rather surrender 240 years of our American Heritage to a violent mob of bloodthirsty socialists than win if winning required fighting like a Democrat for every inch of the political battlefield.

Exactly. Some Americans don’t accept the fraudulent election. There were also many vets and retired police in DC, upset over the breakdown in law and order from the BLM riots/looting. I’m sure they are not happy with this martial law response to one day of protest while months of burn loot murder went on with no response.

Jimmy Dorn once said, when your political party screws their base by putting in the wrong people it’s best not to sit out the election, but to vote for the other party’s candidate, no matter how bad they are. It’s the only way to teach your party a lesson. I am inclined to agree with him on this point, especially with the Turtle...

Back in the early 2000s, I was a regular listener to Hannity's radio show. Back then when somebody would call in to talk about deep state or shadow government concerns, Hannity would taunt them, play "The Twilight Zone," them in the background, disconnect the call and then simply mock them. I think he was trying to be funny, but I found it pretty childish. Obviously the show has call screeners so either these people lied about the reason they called, or (which I find more likely) Hannity took their calls simply for the purpose of humiliating them.

Then at some point later in the Obama admin, or early Trump admin, Hannity not only started talking about the deep state, but portrayed himself as being on the cutting edge of reporting on it.

I've never heard him apologize to the callers he'd tried to humiliate years earlier, though I suppose it could have happened since I generally don't much listen to him anymore.

What does he gain by doing this? I understand he’s there for another 6 years but will be hated by both parties for 6 years. The Democrats always circle the wagons around their people but not the GOP. Chuck Schumer would never do this to Biden.

"Protesters confronted Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday over migrant family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border, a sign that outrage over the Trump administration’s hard-line immigration policy is not abating.

Chao and McConnell, who are married, were about to climb into a black SUV when they were approached by a small group of young men at Georgetown University. One started repeating, “Why are you separating families?”

A short confrontation ensued. “Why don’t you leave my husband alone? Why don’t you leave my husband alone?” Chao responded as McConnell got into the SUV.

“I’m not trying to disrespect you, but why is he separating families?” the young man said. “I’m not trying to disrespect you. He’s separating families.”

An angry Chao told the protesters to “leave him alone” as she tried to walk to the other side of the SUV with the help of security guards."
