It’s time for Republicans to start planning to win again

I am growing tired of the self-flagellation among Republicans since the events on Capitol Hill on January 6. If Democrats, the establishment, and the media had accepted Mr. Trump's victory in 2016 instead of waging a 4-year campaign of obstruction and harassment, our country would not be nearly as divided.

Once Biden is sworn in, I hope Republicans are prepared to fight hard, lawfully, and peacefully to block what will be the most radically progressive agenda this country has ever seen. For example, as the Wall Street Journal reported,

[L]ast week House Democrats reintroduced as H.R.1 a voting and campaign-finance bill that would grease the Democratic voting machine nationwide and restrict political opposition. They also introduced a bill to provide statehood for the District of Columbia that would guarantee Democrats two new Senate seats.

Well said. A good point. Having a minority party helps keep up the illusion that voting matters. As long as the minority party remembers it’s place and doesn’t get out of line. No doubt it’s a good gig for the minority party candidates allowed to hold office. But it attracts a certain class of individuals, if you know what I mean.

I apologize for the length of this post. But I can't condense it down. My heart is heavy with pain and anguish for my country. And this isn't because "Trump Lost". I have lived through MANY political losses at the Presidential level, but this one is quite different.

Look at the responses on here. I would have, in the past, tried to reason with them, because some of the voices have been saying this a long time. But after what we saw in the last several months is...they have been right.

In my opinion, that is the biggest problem for the Republican Party, and it is 100% of their own doing: The fact that they went along with this.

If the Republicans had, en masse, stood up to be counted when the proof was irrefutable that the election process was corrupted, two things might have happened:

First, there might have been a real investigation, and we wouldn't be looking at swearing in a scumbag corrupt and senile a-hole who has been taking millions of dollars for years from a country that is seeking our downfall, and a communist dimwit as a VP.

Second, millions of Americans, people like you and me, would have felt that our elected officials, as least the ones we voted for, had the best interests of the Republic and the Constitution it was based on foremost in their actions.

As it is, we have an inauguration the day after tomorrow of a compromised President and a VP wholly comfortable with Communism, and millions of Republicans know that our votes don't count, and those holding office as Republicans not only did not stand up and defend our Constitutional right to elect our leaders, they helped to destroy that process.

I may change my mind, and I hope I do, but there are a lot of people, millions of people on the conservative side who are not only going to to refuse to vote for a Republican after how they acted, they are going to refuse to vote again AT ALL.

Note: I hope that I will change, and am trying to do just that. But right now I am filled with a great deal of anger and emotion. Perhaps with the passage of time, I will change. However, for perspective, here is where I am right now, and millions of Americans feel as I do.

My current mindset is, I am going to refuse to give this corrupt and flawed electoral process my imprimatur and stamp of legitimacy by participating in it. To me, it is the equivalent of putting a kick-me sign on my back, and saying aloud "Thank you, Sir, May I have another?" Right now, if the election was held today...I wouldn't vote. At all.

I pray that changes. For me, I expect it will. And I hope for others, it does too. I am thinking of getting involved in the electoral process in some way, but in my state, which has been monolithically Left for embarrassing decades and will not change, this may be my futile stab. But I have to find a way to stab. But that is me. I cannot speak for anyone else.

This is my pessimistic prediction below, which I will follow with an optimistic prediction:
There are millions like me who feel EXACTLY as I do, and I don't have a second of doubt for a large number of them, there is no way they are going to change their minds (even if I and others like me do) and that spells doom for the Republican Party (not that I wouldn't welcome their annihilation right now with a grim nod towards just desserts) and doom for our Republic. If that analysis is even ballpark correct, the Republican Party will not win again, especially with the Supreme Court packing, addition of DC and Puerto Rico, and changes to voting and immigration laws.

The efforts at demonization, censorship, de-platforming of conservative voices, all done legally (they will make it legal) with the coordinated efforts of the Democrat Party/Media/Big Tech/Entertainment/Education monopolies will continue apace, and like a military force that has been broken into pieces by an overwhelming attack, they will pursue individual components as they either flee and regroup, and finish them off at their leisure as those isolated components are cut off in turn.

And like a snowball going down a hill, picking up mass, going faster and faster, picking up more and more, the United States will arrive at a despotism and tyranny that the world should rightly fear, even as they currently take great joy in our downfall, especially in Communist China.

In this, I fault the Democrats for destroying the electoral process, and I fault the Republican Party for destroying themselves.

Here is the optimistic prediction:
This country is stronger than the four years of coming despotism, discrimination, persecution, and demonization can muster to destroy it. Conservatism is truth. We love and embrace truth, which is why a far greater proportion of us on the conservative side love and embrace God. God is truth. To our enemies (yes, our former fellow Americans who sanctioned what has taken place with the demonization and persecution of President Trump and the corruption and dismemberment of the electoral process ARE our enemies. They are, in every sense of the word, DOMESTIC ENEMIES OF THIS REPUBLIC) LIES are what they embrace.

So, we have the truth on our side. And that is a powerful ally, even though as we have seen, they plan to make speaking and disseminating the truth as impossible as it can be made. But we will find a way. And perhaps in the process, we will be able to come together and fight these people who we have allowed to metastasize into the vital organs of this Republic for the past sixty years or so. They may aid us in their complete ineptitude and penchant for tyranny in every aspect of our live ranging from religious, to personal, to economic freedom, and will be overthrown, but we cannot count on it.

In apology for the pessimism I have conveyed above, I feel obligated to provide a counterbalance with Winston Churchill's "Finest Hour" speech, which conveys the essence of what I feel, and is a positive thing:

"What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over.

I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war

If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands.

But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, “This was their finest hour.”

The Republicans need to go the way of the Whigs.

Yep, it was a good run as far as nations go. Probably the best. Short of bloodshed I don’t see how we get it back. The oligarchy took a gamble when they made violence the only way to stop them that no one would step up and stop them. Looks like they are going to win that bet.

There are definitely Republicans I can vote for, but there are more that I now detest and I see them as basically cowards that still want the limelight as a seat filler in Congress without ever standing for anything.

I eagerly await Trump’s direction on either cleaning house in the GOP or creating a new party.

I’m out. The social/citizenship contract I had with the country is broken. Gonna live life on the down low(politically, haha). Good luck to everyone who thinks we’re gonna “take our country back”. Opportunity missed. My advice? Find a way to navigate the reality and do the best you can.

+1000, and worth repeating. Laugh, love, and woe to the hapless bast*rd who knocks on my door and acts like a Nazi storm trooper.

We are truly all in this together. At least for now. No doubt FR will eventually become a target.

I share your feelings about the many years of posters talking about the uniparty only to have them shown to be absolutely right. And to be shown exactly what it means, i.e. when the oligarchy goes all in, you lose all your rights, including the right to vote.

Don’t feel bad about feeling bad. It is altogether proper to mourn the passing of the greatest experiment in human freedom ever and to be at the dawn of a thousand years of darkness.

Yep. I think they like being in the minority. They don’t have to do anything like they have to pretend to do stuff when they are in the majority. When they are in the minority, they send out scary stories about what the Dems will do in order to get people to donate. It’s a scam.

Once Biden opens the floodgates to illegals, what makes anyone think real Republicans can ever win anything ever again? Republicans will continue to be the Democrat lite party, promising just a little less “free” stuff than the Dems do.

Here's the problems:

First a person of impeccable integrity needs to offer his service. How many fit the bill?

So you likely get the guy who says what you want to hear to get elected.

He's the lesser of the two evils but you can't know how he'll act in office until he's in office.

Even IF he was a man of integrity how long before he's corrupted by money and power.

It's difficult to have faith in men and political solutions when the men we elect fail to live up to our expectations.

Why are you so negative when Q is going to save us?

Q has been dark for 41 days. At times Q strategically goes dark for days/weeks/months. Often when Q is dark major MIL/MILINT ops are occurring behind the scenes. Do not mistake silence for inaction. Great time to (re)read old drops. Enjoy the show.

Yes, local involvement is the first step. Lots of talkers but the ones who join and become active in local politics can control the direction. So few people are willing to do the foundational work..compared to those who can throw stones and never truly help.

Anyone who buys this crap is a fool. They will not fix the election fraud so they will continue.

We will NEVER have free elections in America again.

The Republicans will likely be in the wilderness for a time to come — IF folks can stand by their principals and remove the RINOs from their ranks.

I’m okay with wandering in the wilderness for an election cycle or two if real change can be made. It’s time for the party to move to a populist conservative/libertarian party that answers to the people. Let the Democrats be the party of the elitists and fascists. The people need a choice.

I agree - went from independent to Republican just because of Trump. Just re-registered as independent. I will, however, register as a R just to vote against Romney in my state of Utah primaries. Voting may be useless, but not as useless as Romney. We need someone to primary him no matter what - I'll go door to door for that.

Did you see that Americanthinker caved to the mob - they printed they were sorry for saying vote fraud occurred.
