>>I absolutely REFUSE to fly an ersatz “American” flag with 52 stars on it. It isn’t going up either of my Flagpoles...

Maybe a couple of states would secede.

It’s certainly unConstitutional, but so was the Kenyanesian Usurpation.

And while we're on the subject Kamala is not an NBC.

If anything - God forbid - happen to Sniffy, she can instantly be disqualified.

Next in line is Nancy Pelosi...

I agree. That way Maryland can get an additional Representative. The state already have two Senators. But Democrats are going for broke here. So why not.

In my lifetime Puerto Rico has had resolutions voted on and consistently said they do not want statehood. As it stands they get all the benefits without the taxes. As states they would have to pay the taxes.

For a number of reasons, it may be time to relocate the US Capitol and other constitutional functions out of what is known as Washington DC.

Once that is completed, DC can be ceded to Maryland.

Why didn’t they do this during Obama’s first two years in office?

I have been told there are several high quality
Golf Courses in Puerto Rico. So, that’s one bragging point they have.

It would cause an interesting Constitutional question, wouldn't it?

Not to a packed court.

Making DC a state would require a Constitutional amendment.

The only reason it is not part of a state was because it was believed the national capital should not be part of a state and should be set apart - and this is literally in the Constitution. Which is why they would want to stack the courts first that would rule it was Constitutional to make it a state, but it isn’t clear Manchin would back such a move, but he can probably be “persuaded” to do so.

If they want to be part of states again the portions should be given back to Maryland and Virginia respectively.

Though they do have a point about “taxation without representation.” I would either let their Delegate have a floor vote in the House, or making it not subject to Federal taxation.

I think its a certainty that the Dems are going to throw every crack pot policy at the country to see what sticks. Anything at all to lawyer their way into any veneer of legitimacy for their crap, because we are nice people don’t you know. We would NEVER engage in civil disobedience... or unify around populist policies that Trump would love (and DC would freak out over).

You should cross Georgia off that list. The GA Governor did all he could to insure the Dim Senators were selected.

I remember there was big push for D.C. statehood back in 1980. It didn’t go anywhere.

Guess what, that means we’re going to get new flag, and the Stars and Stripes goes the way of the Confederate Flag.

Gives a new understanding to why 44 said there were 52 states.
