President-elect Joe Biden plans to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office, according to several news sources.
The decision delighted advocates of the so-called “Green New Deal,” but will disappoint Biden’s own political allies in the trade union movement, who had backed the pipeline for the thousands of jobs it would create.
As Breitbart News reported last year:
The Keystone XL pipeline would run from Canada’s oil sands in Alberta across the border and into Nebraska. From there, the oil would be pumped through existing pipelines to refineries in the Gulf of Mexico. The project passed environmental reviews under the Obama administration, but was stalled due to opposition from environmental groups concerned about climate. (Supporters of the pipeline noted the oil would be extracted, regardless: the alternative was export to China.)
President Donald Trump issued an executive order on his third full day in office effectively giving the green light to Keystone XL, inviting it to re-apply for permits and instructing federal agencies to move the project along rapidly.
Biden, who is the presumptive Democratic Party nominee, promised in May that he would stop the Keystone XL pipeline “for good” if he was elected president.
Four labor unions — the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the International Union of Operating Engineers, the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA), and the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters — reached a project labor agreement (PLA) last August with TC Energy, the Canadian company responsible for the pipeline.

Biden will appeal to national unity in inaugural address
Biden intends a series of executive actions in his first hours after his inauguration, an opening salvo in what is shaping up as a 10-day blitz of steps to reorient the country without waiting for Congress, aide Ron Klain said.

Sometimes you need to learn the hard way
Not so.
I know it wasn’t rural Penns that voted for their fate. It was a combination of the cities and cheating.
Where I live (Berks County, Pa.) the price has gone from 2.49 on Jan. 1st to $2.79 today. I haven’t seen one reference to this jump in any of our local news.
There is a solution to this problem.
Its called secession.
Yet there are those, even on this site, who do not support it.
When the SCOTUS failed in its duties to slap down those states who violated what used to be the US Constitution, that is when I was finally fully convinced that there is no way we can co-exist.
*****************
I agree completely and essentially for the same reasons.
I support secession completely.
We won’t survive as a logical, ,thoughtful nation without a functioning and logical judiciary ( I think they all ought to be fired and reapply with their histories), a functioning Constitution and the necessary Amendment we have understood since early high school.
The solution is the creation of the The Second Republic of the United States with an improved Constitution which more explicitly limits the power of both government and business. I have no idea what the geography would look like. It won’t be the 50 states.
(Glad that I can telecommute!)
I know rural-wise, it’s almost 100% for Trump, but it’s your cities that doomed you
You are so wrong.
I was a poll watcher, in a small town, a few miles south of Pittsburgh, and the precinct that I was assigned was about 65% black.
I've been at this same poll for the past 5 Presidential election and the republican candidate never got more than 8% of the vote, until 2020 and TRUMP got 42% in a mostly black district.
These people are no different than their friends and relatives that live in Homewood or the Hill District in Pittsburgh.
Please, you don't know a damn thing about how Pennsylvania residents actually VOTED.
Have you investigated any of the reports of fraud?
Did you know a trailer truck filled with PA, filled in votes, was shipped from NY to PA and the truck driver testified to it and the fbi never got involved.
It was not our city residents, it was the demonRAT corrupt officials, and our doj and fbi swamp dwellers looking the other way, that allowed this voter fraud to prevail.
Trump won Pennsylvania, if only legitimate votes were counted, and he won in a landslide.
And say hello to $5 gas.
= = =
I think you mean gasoline.
There is lots of FREE gas out there these days.
From every orifice.
Partner, this is great pic. Loved it.
