Selfie-snapping Capitol rioters left investigators a treasure trove of evidence — at least 140,000 pictures and videos taken during the deadly Jan. 6 siege, according to federal prosecutors.
Startling images quickly emerged of the siege, with many making no attempts to disguise their involvement — like bare-chested "QAnon Shaman" Jake Angeli, who was quickly IDed thanks to his horned bearskin headdress with red, white and blue face paint.
One of the first inside, Douglas Jensen, allegedly said he wanted to make sure the world saw his QAnon shirt so that "‘Q’ could ‘get the credit’" for the siege, according to officials.

If she knows Hillary we can rule out suicide.
What if I photoshopped myself in the Capital? reckon they’d hunt me down?
How did the FBI end up with all of these selfies and other photos.
Do they have some secret tools which record and store every photo taken during an event like this?
Your correct but that is not metadata. If I turned geotagging on and sent you a photo you would know exactly were I am.
Probably none. Antifa and BLM "ONLY" did close to two billion in damages, killed scores of citizens and murdered a cop. AND they rioted and looted for MONTHS.
What's that compared to a demonstration where LESS than one half of one percent were violent - and the violence was OVER in less than two hours... WITH LESS THAN $10,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE?
Come on - which would YOU expect the FBI to be concerned about? Months of violence or hours of violence? Billions in damage or %10.000 in damage?
Oh, and I forgot to mention Antifa and BLM were 'gifted' pallets of bricks, weapons, and walking around money... so there were an organized force of chaos... NOT a peaceful group.
Face it, the FBI is a thug arm of the democrat party. In a few years we'll call them 'the secret police' or the SS or KGB... they're goons in transition.
Some of the people posted pictures of themselves on social media.
It does not take the top shelf FBI agents to determine who was there.
HTF did the FBI get their hands on that many pictures off of phones? Legally, that is. Yeah, me either. Never mind.
Great points!
Do they have the ability to scan and record what our smart phones take pics of, and then store them until they need them to charge and arrest deploreables?
“ Then it was embellished by their new claims that they were trying to capture and kill Congresscritters and Pence. “
What was the meaning of chanting ‘ hang Mike Pence ‘ ?
I wasn’t in Washington on January 6 but the last time I was inside the Capitol I didn’t take any selfies. I was 9 years old and had a Brownie camera but don’t recall if I had it with me.
Google and Apple control those settings.
I wouldn’t bet a plug nickel that you have any control.
Linux gave us “Free” software so that it could be the OS used on fully-locked software platforms that spy on their “owners”.
It’s for “security”, you know.
Google IS the virus. Apple IS the virus. Any speaker is a microphone.
Boy, do I sound paranoid. Too bad it’s all true.
Look at how many of these folks were military or former military.
Meanwhike the MSM is spewing these fake polls that the military hates Trump.
What about the Las Vegas shooter?
Whatever happened about that?

Doesn’t relate here, since they know where the Capitol is. And a whole lot people online - e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc. - are looking to ID and dox the people in the vids-photos.
I wouldn’d depend on Google or Apple to remove info from a pic, without moving into the database first, anyway. They live to collect whatever they can on you.
If you have a real computer you can strip IDing info fast and easily yourself, with any one of some simple free programs.
Though the best thing, in cases like here, is not to get involved in breaking the law. Second best, not to takre pictures of yourself breaking the law. But we’re not talkin’ the finest minds on earth here.
COVID mask, sunglasses, baseball hat and hoodie - must have fashion at protests.
The point is, how did they legally get that many pictures legally. I don’t believe they did obtain them legally. Not that the law matters any more.
Thanks. That I understand.
Being an old 82 year dummie, do they have the ability to snatch/grab photos in an event from the smart phones at an event like 6 Jan.?

You give it up when you post it on Twitter, Facebook or whatever social media. It’s public.
My word, how did they come into possession of all those photos? Could it be the “Patriot Act”?
