If Fox News wants to restore its cable news ratings dominance, changes will have to be visible far lower in its organization than what is being reported.
Though I was angry over its election night coverage and have been dismayed at the behavior of a number of its on-air personalities, I take no joy in the ratings crisis that seems to be engulfing Fox News. For all its faults, its reach, resources, and stable of outstanding talent like Tucker Carlson make it an essential voice in a nation with a media scene that is getting scarier by the day. There is no doubt in my mind that, if FNC disappeared or lost its cable system distribution, as at least one of its rivals seems to be advocating, conservatism would be in a much weaker position.
Yesterday, The Daily Beast published an article with four authors, one of them a departed FNC staffer who charged sexual harassment and settled for an undisclosed sum, claiming:

Fox will fire one or two people to give the impression it’s making amends for its anti-Trump bias that resulted in collapsing ratings. It will all be a ruse.
Fox stabbed its viewers in the back. There is nothing they can do that will ever repair the broken trust it once had with its viewership — and Fox knows it. Their revenues are tanking and they have too much competition on the Left to ever compete for market share on that side. They are in a death spiral.
My reaction is the same as it would be to anyone in any situation: Just be honest.
They need to broadcast a heart to heart with their viewers. All the other major outlets make no attempt at balance. I appreciate the effort to be fair and balanced, and I think they achieved that in the Ailes days. They should acknowledge that they went too far. Take Donna Brazile, for example. What does she bring to the table? Thoughtful
Analysis from a liberal point do view? No.
Just the party line in every issue. Ditto Juan Williams. Likewise Marie Harf who, besides being a hack, is just an Effie idiot.
I advise that they just sack anyone who has suggested in the last six months that the Russia hoax had any truth to it all. Follow up with the guys who talk down to us like Chris Wallace. Return, in short, to your mission. Viewers would return in droves.
I know I would.
I've gravitated to Newsmax and OAN and am enjoying both. Withdrawals from Fox took about a week, but I'm over the "shakes" now, and enjoying the quality of both Newsmax and OAN. Fox's loss is my gain.
Hardy anyone gets it, Fox News is now in the leftist propaganda business, so they will gladly shut down rather than return to a centrist alternative to CNN etc ...

I turned off their election coverage (which was being carried on the local Fox affiliate) when they called Virginia immediately for Biden - which I didn’t necessarily disagree with - but they did that, while saying Kentucky and Indiana were too early to call and did not call them for Trump at the same time. That made zero sense.

From the tone of the article it is the Murdocks who want to make FNC a conservative favorite again.

Fox sold their soul. They only keep Tucker for the ratings and thus revenues. Go to reliable news service like OANN or Newsmax. Alternatively, NTD or WION.
