Don’t abandon the GOP; take it over and use the ballot access and many effective officeholders it already has

Kenneth R. Timmerman today properly reminds us that it is leaders, not institutions, that have betrayed us. James S. Corum reminds us today of the deep bench that resides in the party below the level of top congressional leaders — and the formidable power of state governments and political organizations under GOP control.

Discarding these tools amounts to unilateral disarmament just as we need them in the critical elections ahead. Leaders can be influenced and discarded, but institutions take a long time to build.

We have state-level redistricting in immediate prospect and a midterm election in less than 22 months. It is critical to allow the American people to vote for a national party that will resist the radical Democrats via electing Republican congressional majorities, as the overreach of the left becomes clear to the sensible majority of American voters.

And how do you propose take it over?

We sent a hundred tea party people to Congress and within a year they were swallowed by the swamp. Either they were phonies or they were bought.

Trump rebuilt the party and now he’s not welcome there.

Screw the GOP. Bunch of panty waste traitors. There’s maybe a half dozen patriots in the GOP in Congress. The fact that Cheney and McCarthy are in “leadership” tells me that there isn’t any hope there.

You must be really young since that’s been the failed plan for 40 years.

Get 9 friends and go to the next local gop meeting. That will probably be enough but 10 sets of 10 would be enough for sure.
Then YOU are the gop.
The gop is just like a road system or a bridge, use it to get where you want to go.
All politics are local.

I said basically the same thing upthread.
If we can't put together the people in our own area to control our local gop party then what on earth makes people think they can build another party?

The local party is run by a few people who are willing to put in the time and effort, is that you?
Have you ever been to your local gop meeting?
Yes I speak from experience, I confess I was a county chairman back in 2000.

Do you know where and when your local gop meets next?
Go.
Take 9 friends.
Be 1 of 10.

ONLY JESUS could bring the dead back from the grave! The GOP has committed suicide. It is finished, through, over, done, dead.

What on earth have you been smoking or drinking? Whatever it is, I’d get away from it, because it is adversely affecting your judgment.

If they’re that honest and sincere, they can join us. Otherwise it’s just an attempt to protect the already hollowed-out party.

Now with fraud, it doesn’t matter who wins because the powers that be decide instead of the people.

Exactly. Yes they could try to infiltrate a new party, but the lines of political correctness have moved so much that it won’t be as hard to smoke them
out. Try getting a leftist, even an undercover one, to put it in writing that blm are terrorists, for instance.

Bullcrap. You don’t win the war by surrendering battlefields.

Anyone pushing third parties is either stupid, naive, or a malicious deceiver.

I don’t support “team red jersey “ I support representatives who represent my interests. The majority of these don’t-remember during Bush II, we had to flood the switchboards in DC to stop “our” party from passing amnesty? This isn’t new. They’ve just had to become more open as the demonrats have moved the posts. They couldn’t even stop sodomite mirage, much less roll hack abortion. They support illegal immigration (cheap labor). Small government? Jokes. Capitalism? Crony capitalism, right. Why would I, a Christian conservative, continue to support them? Just because they’re “team red”?

If things go the way it’s looking, I’ll never vote again, much less Republican.

ENOUGH already with the "I'll never be a Republican again" sniveling.

Unfair to characterize the debate currently being conducted by conservatives as "sniveling."

The first order of business should be to purge the ten Republican members of the House of Representatives who voted to impeach our President.

I am unwilling to vote Republican as long as they have gone unpunished. Their lives must be made miserable. THEN we can talk about rebuilding the Republican Party. If that is not possible, then we have no choice but to form a new party.

...new party will be just as easily infiltrated as the old...

Nateman: I have seen this first hand.

No one said that it'll be easy - or that it's possible to forge a perfect political party. Mistakes will be made. Turncoats will occasionally "do us the dirty." Opportunists cannot always be found out and expelled.

However, that is not a good argument against at least trying.

On Jan 21 Trump needs to declare and file for a new political party. You can stay with the uniparty, millions of US wont. Your gonna be lonely if that happens.

the entire focus of the UniParty the next 2 years will be to insure that whatever happened to them in 2016 NEVER EVER happens again.

Lots of wisdom all around here.

1. I am NOT an advocate of pursuing political goals by destroying the GOP and starting a new party — for all the reasons laid out in this article.

2. I DO, however, strongly believe that the Republican Party should not be given even a dime of financial support. I have told them as much. I will support individual candidates but not any party organization.

This approach is what got us Donald Trump, by the way. Turning back the clock and remaking the GOP into the tired old corporate/globalist pile of sh!t is not a winning approach.
