Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the No. 3 House Republican, announced on Tuesday that she would vote to impeach President Trump, saying there had “never been a greater betrayal by a president of the United States” than Mr. Trump’s incitement of a mob that attacked the Capitol last week.
In a stinging statement that drove a fissure through her party, Ms. Cheney dismissed fellow Republicans arguing that the impeachment was rushed, premature or unwarranted. Her words were unequivocal and likely to give cover to two dozen or so other House Republicans looking to break ranks and join an effort that was also said to have the tacit support of Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader.
“Much more will become clear in coming days and weeks, but what we know now is enough,” said Ms. Cheney, the scion of a storied Republican political family. “The president of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the president.”
She added: “The president could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”

Same here. I hated Romney and was hoping for Santorum, but when Romney beat out Santorum in the primary and then with his pick of Ryan, I had to change my mind and Ryan had me fooled. I knew all about Romney from living in Massachusetts at the time.
Had to vote for McCain, I thought, because Obama was full blown anti-American Marxist. Little did I know McCain was just as anti-American and simply handed the presidency to Obama on a silver platter. In hindsight think McCain and the globalist cabal reasoned that, together, they could destroy this nation’s sovereignty more effectively with McCain remaining in the senate. It worked, unless by some grace of God we can turn this around. It sure doesn’t look like it now. I wish we would get in a civil war an end this all right now.

Like many, I have awoken. My vote is now precious. I will never again vote for a Republican just because that person is a Republican.
I suspect there are any like me. Even in the GA Senate races turnout was low, perhaps enough to lose both seats.
I suspect this will continue, I think because of this we may be in for years or decades of Democrat rule.

Since my partner wanted to nap, I was watching the crawl on the events at the Capitol today. I saw something about 20 minutes age that I believe was trying to say Dick Chaney had called Liz Chaney yesterday and was supportive. ON the other hand the crawl was trying to say that members were having trouble driving to the “Capitol,” but they used some other word that made no sense at all. Some Dem, whose name I didn’t catch, said there could be 10 to 20 Rep. defectors this afternoon in the final vote. There were few in the chamber today. Eight Rs spoke, and 12 Ds.
Wonder if Cheney thinks she can get the Speaker House position by doing this impeccable act?
Syracuse, NY is a college town. I suspect that only a rather moderate Republican can win in such a situation. To far right and a Democrat will likely win.
That is why the establishment *must* destroy him; in fact erase him. The rise of a populist politician who actually answers to the people and who actually tries to help raise the living standards of average Americans *must* be destroyed by the establishment. A successful populist would destroy the establishment's hold on power, which they use to benefit themselves, not people.
There have been reports of police from several large cities taking part in the Capitol event along side the rioters, and FBI is looking into this.
You just know a year from now these same GOPe will be sending out fund raising appeals to save the country from those evil Dems; the same Dems they're working with. They'll gin up billions in campaign cash, give half away to their connected campaign staff as overhead, pocket the rest, and in the end it does not matter who wins, because we don't actually have two parties. We have one.
