My Lutheran pastor told us during confirmation classes when I was a kid that the reason he would not accept invitations to meet with various so called religious organizations was that they were political and subversive. He said the WCC and NCC were not what they sounded like but were communist fronts. The reason it came up was that some congregation members wanted to know why he wasn’t “getting along” with other churches in the community.
They also celebrated the summer of BLM love and condoning the rioting and the looting and the violence.

I’m glad I left too! My little rural ELCA church in Maryland seemed OK until I went to a Synod assembly, which had nothing to do with sharing the Word and was exclusively dedicated to liberal Democrat politics. I left that church and began searching, thankfully finding an LCMS church that was faithful to God, not leftist politics.
