Derrick Evans, facing federal charges for entering the U.S. Capitol with a mob, has resigned from West Virginia’s House of Delegates.
“I hereby resign as a member of the House of Delegates, effective immediately,” Evans said in a one-page letter submitted to Gov. Jim Justice and the House.
The House released another statement from Evans expressing regret.
“I take full responsibility for my actions, and deeply regret any hurt, pain or embarrassment I may have caused my family, friends, constituents and fellow West Virginians,” Evans stated.
“I hope this action I take today can remove any cloud of distraction from the state Legislature, so my colleagues can get to work in earnest building a brighter future for our state. And more importantly, I hope it helps to begin the healing process, so we can all move forward and come together as ‘One Nation, Under God.’”

I know this man and this is the second time he’s fallen on his sword.
The first time was about two years ago when he was banned from protesting at local abortion clinic for doing stupid crap.
He fought hard and won to get in the WV House and he falls on his sword again.
The guy’s heart is in the right place, but you can’t fix stupid.
Perhaps its better if people on our side are this idiotic, that they do resign.
Republicans are stupid. I’m glad President Trump showed us that.
I do have one thing in common with democrats now, a disdain for republitards.

We all should reread and take to heart 1 Peter this exhortation:
1 Peter 2:19-25

Why is he playing pattycake? He went to the march for a reason....no? I only hope he will start a local legal and powerful resistance. He certainly wouldn’t be going far making and obeying the laws anyway...since the dems disregard the laws whenever it suits their purpose. Frankly...many repubs aint doing that hot either.
