When NG is deployed, aren't they usually under the control of the governor of the state they are deployed in? Since the District of Columbia is NOT a state and has no governor, who has authority to give them orders? The Pentagon? POTUS? The Mayor?

Thinking out of the box. Trump just got a bunch of Blue State Dem governors to send their NG and offensive hardware to DC under his command. If there is a fear of civil war, this is genius.

And Trump said he would not be attending the inauguration. There may not be an inauguration; LBJ got sworn in on a plane by a local federal judge. Another president (I’d have to look for the name) got sworn in by his father who was a justice of the peace and notary public, in a private place.

I figure Trump will take the oath of office elsewhere. And what the barricades and troops are for remains to be seen.
