"....A city real estate agent was publicly fired after she posted to social media about attending the event. After workers at a tattoo shop posted about attending the rally, the shop was savaged on social media and was hit with graffiti accusing the store of employing “Nazis.” A Vietnamese restaurant, whose owners reportedly also attended the rally, was overwhelmed with negative online reviews....."

That’s because like the fascists before them, the new left has thoroughly combined corporatism and authoritarian socialism.
The company I work for put out a corporate memo/email denouncing the protest and Trump and pledging support for the new administration. It was sickening and I deleted it immediately.
No it isn't. Political beliefs is not a protected class.
If I was hiring, the fact someone was at the rally would be a big plus.
23+ years in fortune 100 says you’re wrong. I didn’t say it’s how it works... But we don’t want to weaken employer rights.
You don’t think they would have a problem firing because of race, sex, etc?
Unable to access any links that are being posted here, anyone got any ideas on what is causing my problem?
Sure they would, if the reason for the firing was based on race, sex, religion, etc. But they weren't. They were fired at best for criminal activity and at worst because they were conservatives. Neither one is a protected class.
Remind them of Nasim Najafi Aghdam, the atheist vegan Youtuber who shot up YouTube headquarters when denied her ability to feed herself and her free speech by liberal big business.
Use 2ndvote to find conservative companies
Exactly.
There is another principle which protects employees from exercising a legal right, such as “the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Of course the employer could claim that the event in DC led to some illegal activity, but firing someone for supporting someone politically leads to a system like communist China, social media and all.
Should say “from being pusished for exercising a legal right”
Bring it on. I am still flying my Trump flag out front and will continue doing so.
Where the fcuk is Joe Biden?
I definitely will not go gently into that good night. I decided some time ago that I have in fact done everything I feel I need to do. Are there things I’d like to do? Sure. But if push comes to shove, I’ve got no problem going all in. None at all.
Stalin like purges. Perhaps like the North akorean punishment will also be given to extended family members. Grandpa loses his government pension, Aunt Tilly gets kicked out of her nursing home, your nieces and nephews get sent to reeducation camps.
Many States have laws about unlawful termination for things that happen outside of the workplace. These laws were created specifically by liberals to prevent getting fired during the 1960’s and 1970’s riots.
“Employment at will states. Nothing illegal in firing them.”
Doodle, you never do seem to know the law and spout such nonsense. States do have laws against such terminations for things outside the workplace, and I know I have told you that before.
I think we’re well past that. Time to make them feel the pain.
