Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., said he witnessed the moment a police officer shot a woman inside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday and insisted the officer had no other choice.
A pro-Trump mob of rioters rammed their way into the Capitol Wednesday as Congress held a joint session to certify the election results, sending lawmakers into hiding.
Video shows a group attempting to force itself into the House chamber, where lawmakers were present. As protesters were breaking glass on the doors that kept them out to force their way through, a law enforcement officer fired a shot. One woman, Ashli Babbitt, was struck by a bullet and later died.
"When they broke the glass in the back, the [police] lieutenant that was there, him and I already had multiple conversations prior to this, and he didn't have a choice at that time," Mullin told ABC News' George Stephanapoulos on "Good Morning America" Thursday.
"The mob was going to come through the door, there was a lot of members and staff that were in danger at the time. And when he [drew] his weapon, that's a decision that's very hard for anyone to make, and, once you draw your weapon like that, you have to defend yourself with deadly force."
Mullin said police "showed a lot of restraint" and "did the best they could."

And what about all those allegedly "unjustified" police shootings of violent criminals who actually physically fought with cops. Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Rayshard Brooks (Atlanta), all actually wrestled with officers. Yet the commie-left and their various useful idiots claimed these and others of the same sort were 'unjustified' shootings, clear examples of 'systemic racism'.

Yes and they were surprised there was a shot cause it did not come from them . It came from inside the door . There is a video and you can see the old man that shot her from inside the door . He was wearing a black mask . It was probably a Pelosi detail/staffer

Thanks. The guy in the picture I posted the link to, when I enlarged it, his shirt has blue pinstripes on the collar and cuffs. Then when I went back to watch the different angle video of the shooting that someone posted the link to, I realized that the linked photo I posted wasn't even where the shooting took place. I thought they shot from inside the House chamber but in actuality, the shooting took place from inside an open hallway that probably leads to Congressional offices. I bet she never even saw the guy, because as the video progresses, he comes out from hiding on the left side of the screen, and then shoots her. I didn't realize it was a totally different area in the building where she had been shot. Still murder. I hope the guy is ratted out by someone.
The good news is that the officer that. Shot the woman in question has been giving paid leave which will begin the process of getting him fired. This cop’s police career is over.

Use of deadly force with a gun on an unarmed woman was NOT JUSTIFIED.
The officer should be fired and prosecuted as a criminal. That was not law enforcement, that was murder.

If that justification was really true, logical would infer that all of them should have been shot. So why shoot only one?
No one was “attacking” Congress. They briefly trespassed there, unfortunately a small number shoved a few cops who were shoving them, they took a bunch of selfies, left a note for Nancy Pelosi, milled around for bit and left, in order words they did nothing even vaguely as bad as a year full of antifa/BLM tossing fireworks, frozen bottles, and Molotov cocktails at cops, looting and burning down businesses, destroying historical artifacts, terrorizing motorists, murdering several people and assaulting hundreds—all of which was deemed “peaceful protesting” and not at all worthy of deadly force.

Yep and we were THERE! 99.9% of rally attendants were peaceful. Out of the approx. 50 thousand that were standing around us at the back walkway in front of the Ellipse, maybe two were vocally disappointed that there wasn’t more “action” and they could have been pAntifa infiltrators. These TWO attendees at NO time said “storm the capitol.”
We DID see a young, light skinned black or hispanic man waving a TRUMP flag and running toward the capitol exclaiming “they are taking over the capitol!” This was on G street and approx. 12th St (NW) approximately around 1 p.m.
We were all very upset that SCROTUM refused to hear the Texas case. We were mostly warned against pAntifa and BLM, Inc. attackers; that is who we were ready for. President Trump clearly said “Join me in a walk down Pennsylvania Ave IN FRONT of the Capitol Building.” At NO time did he say storm it.
Again, it is the PEOPLE’S HOUSE. I don’t recall any elitist politicians being concerned about people’s homes and businesses being breached (and destroyed) during the “summer of love.” (TM) Feudalism is alive and well in America.
