Cleta Mitchell, the conservative lawyer that can be heard interjecting in the now infamous call between President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, resigned from her role as partner at the Washington office of law firm Foley & Lardner on Tuesday, the Washington Post reports.
Mitchell, who advised Trump during his Saturday phone call with Raffensperger in an effort to overturn the presidential election, could be heard multiple times during the call helping the president as he made baseless claims regarding the election and demanding that the secretary of state release election data.
“So what are we going to do here, folks?” Trump asked Raffensperger and his aides during an hour-long telephone conversation on Saturday. “I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.”
The 70-year-old litigator’s resignation came after her law firm on Monday issued a statement saying it was “concerned by” her participation in the call, according to the Washington Post. The firm noted that as a matter of policy, its attorneys do not represent “any parties seeking to contest the results of the election.”

“Baseless claims” based on nothing...nope...there were no legislative hearins, no sworn witnesses, no nuttin. “Baseless”, “unfounded”, “refuted”...
Baseless claims. I believe you Pinocchio.
I don’t think Cleta Mitchell needs the firm.

Rintintin’s addendum: I’d leave any club that didn’t want me. They don’t deserve my staying.
Good on this lady. I hope she shook the dust from her feet on the way out
The big lie technique - repeat a lie often enough and most people will believe it.
“Baseless - baseless -baseless”! Yes, President’s Trump unfounded baseless claims have all been debunked, that’s for sure.
Pay no attention to the security video clearly showing the Georgia election being stolen in the early hours of Nov 4. That’s a baseless video.
I double triple guarantee you, there is no evidence of voter fraud.
Cancel Culture. We don’t like your politics — you’ll never work in this town again.
baseless
AJC. It’s only good to line my cat’s litter box.
Your bias is showing. Baseless must be some kind of keyword.
Of course, I'd like to see that in the employee manual.
I simply reported what they posted. Would you prefer CNN or HuffPo?
The history books will depict Trump as a fool. In time, nobody will know he was the best president ever or how much he accomplished.
Sparsing!
They had no problem believing Trump was in collusion with Russia,... but election fraud, ...now that's just impossible ?....I don't think so, I have seen it in person with my own eyes as police stand guard and let it happen so I know MASS Election fraud is 100% real.
He should be sued for malpractice.
“I hope she shook the dust from her feet on the way out.”
If nothing else, she left with a check showing at least 7 figures as a partner’s share of the firm.
History books that make such a claim should be inked up and have pages torn out.
Howdee!
I'm the Atlanta Urinal Constipation, an' I can't be bothered to investigate the publicly available list of thousands and thousands of ineligible Georgia "voters".
Pay your fitty cents into the newspaper box, and dump a quart of Karo syrup in the box.
